The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Yeah thats what I figured and I acted like I didn't know that people do that. She brought up another person they insure and talked about him racing his "wrx or something, that you can make go fast" I just played dumb. I didn't say that I do it. So hope they never look. Our agent is a family friend and said that I can do whatever I want to the car but I won't get more than market value of one a year newer and 15,000 miles less if I total this one.

Yea I asked my insurance company about it before I went to the HPDE. They definitely said I wasn't covered at the event. I didn't get the impression that my coverage would be dropped like some people are having happen by participating in autocross.

id say do it!!

I'm leaning to doing it. But then my car will be almost the same as Jame's car. And I like my wheels its just that the OZ's are nicer and lighter

They didn't say I would be dropped per say. They just said they didn't know where to "classify" that other guys car. So I think they would classify me as dropped lol.

Not a timed event but they surely won't cover anything that happens at one.

Yeah, chances are not good that it will get covered. But back in the day policies called out racing only as not covered and HPDEs slipped through the cracks because they are technically schools. But it's not the case any longer to my knowledge.

That's why I use a car that I can write-off.

Definitely do it. OZ's are nice, light, strong, well made wheels.

Will is correct, that is why that even the teen driving school does not allow teens to use family cars, because insurance does not cover any losses or damages. If you are going to do HPDE/Track Days, look in to getting some type of coverage, you never know what can happen! I seen to many cars totaled because of driver error and not knowing what to do. As been stated before, if you can't afford to replace it, don't race it (track it).

I wish I could write off an sti...
But yes I am going to try and get them but if he wants my five wheels and a bunch of cash I'll walk away. Its a guy from Mazdaspeed Pittsburgh, maybe Levi can talk him into doing it for a bit of cash and my wheels?

just saw this and instantly thought of Phen, considering we did exactly that to start a fire a few years ago camping at Daytona LOL

To the vault!

Good luck on those wheels that'd be a sweet pick up.

Even if you purchase track insurance, what stops your insurance company from dropping you if they find out you're racing?

The fact that they want your money?

If you aren't trying to file a claim for an incident that happened doing something they don't cover you'll be fine.

Couldn't I just have my dad come get me with the trailer and take it home and say I was driving down the road when it popped? They don't know it happened there. If it ever does go I'll stock out the motor stuff and pay my $500 deductible and get a fresh engine with labor money left over because I will do it myself. Last time I asked my agent if my engine was covered he said it is so I'm hoping he keeps to his word

I cant stand Rays wife's boston accent. But yes, blondie looks good in cuffs

haha but don't have a problem with her accent. Figure she's getting acclimated to living out West. lol

Just got off the phone with my insurance asking about a winter beater and asked how I could lower my payment and she brought up the "racing" like autocross and track days if they find out I'm participating then I can get dropped. I need to find a way to keep my name off the results.

So is this dependent on the company, individual agent, industry? IMO if you are participating it shouldn't be grounds for an automatic drop, you just forfeit any rights to make a claim for any damages sustained during the event. Kinda bad if any company will just drop you for finding out you ran an event.

I started with episode 1 on demand, I'm up to episode 5 with the old caddy. Haven't seen the cuffs scene yet except for previews, I like the previews...
after dating a blonde chick that turned out to be crazy, I judge hotness based on looks and personality. Even in the world of make believe.

I could, but I like winning teams and Iowa's campus isn't a 10 minute drive for me.

And I'm with you on the rant for another day, big 10 has 12 and big 12 has 9 or 10? dumb. at least Boise & San Diego State aren't part of the big east I guess

Ah sorry, thought you meant you picked up on last night's episode. Carry on then and get yo ass caught up! :p Sorry for any spoilers.

Touche on the winning team but if I went by distance to campus I'd be a PSU fan. blech Never could stand the Nittany Lions either but somehow I married a fan. haha

Completely dumb, stupid, asinine and give them time. If the money is right we'll see Boise or any other hot West team merge with the Big East.

LMAO...good ol' scrooge er...Will

GL with getting the wheels, they are nice. Maybe Levi will know the guy and can get a family/friends discount. :)

Could do that but then if you get caught you are looking at fraud and more than just getting dropped.
