The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Just a random question coming from outside the box. Any time I've worked with my brakes, bled them, pads, etc... The feel when the car is shut off is drastically different than when vacuum assist is working with the car running. Any thoughts to that making a difference, good or bad?

This is why I'm calling it done for now. I know the MC is bled properly and I know I didn't force any air into the system with the pressure bleeder so it's as good as it's going to get. My experience is the brake pedal will "drop" when the vehicle is running as the brake booster is doing its thing. That's just because the vacuum the engine is generating is being used to multiply the braking input force. I really don't have any idea how that's going to be with the new setup. The goal is to have reduced pedal stroke for the same amount of braking. Modulating the brakes with the stock setup required quite a bit of motion.

Thanks for reminding me. I totally forgot about the cabin filter haha. I've never swapped mine out so I think it has 103,000 miles on it. Some how, it still blows extremely cold air.

remember its like two filters. I've never replaced mine either but I think the guy before me did. I'm just going to buy the $11 ebay one spray it with some good cologne and slap it in and pull my nasty one out

I never replaced mine either, I just sold the car. :)

You can get the filters from Mazda for $20-25 I believe.

Pretty much exactly where my brain was heading.

You can never have too many wheels!

Did you get everything figured out with the new wheels Patrick?

AC? What's that? I never use AC even if my car has it, lol.

This Saturday I was so hot on the back of the bike I damn near passed out. You know it's hot when you open your jacket, are going over 80, and it's not helping at all... Just hot air hitting your hot body, doing nothing. Ugggggh.

Taters, that's a pretty random post. It's just a lightly modded MS3 for the usual price in Indiana. Is it someone you know or something?

Yeah I'm not getting them. I've had a number of people contact him and he won't budge from 800 without tires or TPMS. So I said screw it and gave up. Need money for the rx7 wheels I'm picking up and tires

Morning and have to say I'm surprised Will isn't all over those MS3 wheels with the plastidip. hehe One helluva great deal though!

Back to ac talk, I prefer my setting at 70/4. The wifey likes to drive with it on though and it kills me around town with the 2.0 in the 3. I think I can push the car faster up a hill than with the fan setting on 2. But gotta keep her happy.
