The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

What's happening?

I feel like I got hit by a truck. Did a 22 mile ride last night in the heat. Kicked my ass.

at my work they are huge with staying in shape and there is a group of runners that anyone can join. Three passed out and dropped like flies yesterday because of the heat

Ya yesterday was pretty damn hot. The humidity made it even worse. I actually drove home with the A/C on...which happens maybe 2-3 times a year haha

Last night I finally defeated the RX-7's brakes. They're still not perfect but it'll do for now. It's nice to be able to work on the RX-7 again and even nicer to move onto something else.

Horay for not having AC in any car.

thats a bummer... but dont you know the faster you drive, the cooler the air becomes? i mean atleast thats what i always thought haha

congrats on finishing the brakes and dont take this the wrong way cause im sure it could be taken that way if someone misreads this

BUT knowing you, im sure the brakes are more than "it'll do for now", you are an engineer and are a bit anal about things, +plus its a 20 something year old car, cant expect perfection out of such dated things haha :P

At one point after a decently difficult hill, I got light headed and had to stop. I was plenty hydrated, but it was still quite rough.

Civic needs the A/C recharged. Anything below 2000 rpm and it struggles. Cruising speed, no problem at all. It was so cold this morning that I saw the air coming out of the vent.

I wish the ms3 would blow colder than 60* but I think I need to replace my filter because it doens't blow as hard at Marc's 2013 and I love my a/c I use it all the time

Yea, to fix my AC requires a new hard line that currently has a hole in it, then its a gamble if the pump is still any good. At this point, I don't care, I would only use it a few times a year, and its not worth throwing money at it.

Oh, it still bugs me but I really need to get on to other tasks and I'm tired of smelling like brake fluid. They're to the point now where the brake pedal is above the throttle when it goes stiff and the wheels are locked, which is a good sign. It's been so long I don't remember what the stock pedal felt like so it's hard to compare. I'll work on them more when the car is running. Who knows how they'll feel with the booster operating.

Thats awesome. It's about time you beat the brakes.
It only took another MC and complete system flush. This whole venture has been more expensive than necessary but at least it's done.

Thanks for reminding me. I totally forgot about the cabin filter haha. I've never swapped mine out so I think it has 103,000 miles on it. Some how, it still blows extremely cold air.

Just a random question coming from outside the box. Any time I've worked with my brakes, bled them, pads, etc... The feel when the car is shut off is drastically different than when vacuum assist is working with the car running. Any thoughts to that making a difference, good or bad?

Heh. Civic doesn't even have a cabin filter. 208k miles, engine swap, never recharged.
