The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Thats what I've been looking at but they are kinda pricey. I mean I don't mind paying some but I would like to keep it around 850 if I can. I think me having itunes on my laptop hurts it. But it should be able to handle it. I've had issues since day one.

Wow I had to yank the battery out for it to reset itself. I know thats not good to do but thats what I had to do

What is your current computer?

Dell 15 inch brick. it has an i3 with 4 gb RAM and 500 GB HD. Parents got it because thats what dell said would be fine for me. I am a commuter and want something smaller like this: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2416741,00.asp
I like that and found one from a refurb site but I am kinda wearing about that. So I asked that company selling it a few questions to see what the difference between buying new and used besides the 185 price difference.

the 45 zones with no workers present piss me off!!! Everyone goes 60 anyways. There is occasionally a cop sitting by school zones around here.

ive never had any issues with 10 over in most of those places, but probably depends on car :)
and being brown doesnt help either lol

^^^^ HAHAHAHA you need tint lol. I'm going up there to get mine redone and darker if you want to go with me sho

I got my windows tinted a week after I picked up my car haha.

Inspirons are bulky and buggy. I've had an older one and it gave me some bs to deal with way too often.

Ultrabooks are nice, but you'll definitely pay the premium. If you are ok with a couple of extra lbs, just look at smaller laptops. Also, the battery life won't be as good, but you'll save $200+ on the initial cost and most likely will be able to add more memory / hdd / other if it's ever necessary. A lot of ultrabooks are either sealed or maxed out for their mobos.

why? I don't know much about computers anymore. PC mag likes them and so does cnet but who knows if there are manufacture incentives to say good things.

If you had 800 to spend what would you buy?

I'd get a vaio s. I had an FN for 7 years and was still amazing when it finally let go.

Nothing at all wrong with that laptop you linked. Good specs for the price. Acer isn't top of the line as far as build quality/construction, but I've had a couple of them in the past and I was pleased.

I would get a SSD instead of a normal hard drive though. If you need to keep a lot of stuff I would keep it on an external.

thanks guys! will the one I liked said it has a 20gb SSD and a 500gb HD would you suggest getting something that has a larger SSD and no normal HD?

if it has both, you should be fine. Use that 20 for the OS and other 'quick' stuff, and drop all your multimedia into the 500.
