The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Monsters: easier to ride than a sport bike, get beat around more by the wind since its a naked bike (yes, even with the little fly screen)

That white/red 848 is very similar to my last 600RR. I got mine all done and then they came out with that -_- my rear wheel was black to match the black swingarm and pegs were black, but other than that they were pretty much the same scheme.

I'd still like to see crash/accident info broken down. I'd like to see what percentage was rider error (too fast for a corner/not enough skill) vs. someone else being at fault (didn't see bike, turned in front of them, etc) and also what percentage were sport bikes vs cruisers... And finally: helmet or no helmet. I think if people heard about bikes crashing with riders properly geared up vs riding around in a tank top and no helmet, they'd change their mind on how "dangerous" it can be. Motorcycle deaths vs auto deaths are always going to be higher per crash, you don't have the protection around you. It's not hard to figure out. But as long as you prepare for it, you're giving yourself a much better chance (as long as you don't slide into something).

I laid my bike down twice, both times over 40mph. If not for just the boots, jacket and helmet I'd be jacked up.

I've learned the best way for me to ride, is to ride someone else's bike. Then I don't feel like testing the limits because it isn't mine lol :/

Yeah, the bike I crashed wasn't mine... had to pay for it of course so I stay away from bikes that aren't mine. I wasn't pushing it, just ran into unexpedted gravel on a turn... hmm

Given that the roads here allow for more freedom, I'd rather avoid temptation to open it up.

Oh, and I appreciate the comment on the wind with the monster, I think the bike is really sexy but that is good to know.

That being said, can i get a ride in the msp sometime? :)

I may be wrong, but I don't think it has a 2nd seat in the car.

I have those brakets on but mine aren't bolted in. havent had any issues. the core doesn't move at all on mine

Well damn, I may just say screw it on those brackets lol. I wish the FMIC came with directions lol. I've found some walk-throughs online, but they aren't detailed enough. I'll have to keep searching though.

Sohan, are you coming out to Menchies tonight?

Evan, Kevin said you have the exhaust, score! I may or may not install this weekend. I could use a quieter ride to work Monday

Pablo, i appreciate the input youve thrown our way today. Thats why i like hanging out with you all at the meets and grt togethers. Because in reality, i learn more from listening to those who have been through tough times and have accomplished things on their own rather than hearing the sameold shpiel from my advisors at school that dont seem to understand that i need to do things at my own pace.

The passenger seat is in, so you can come out june 9 to LLCC or june 10 to mid ohio

A few pages too late (for some of you bitching about people not working at work, you sure are posting a LOT on here!)

haha! touche'
It's only lately that I've been able to somewhat keep up with this thread - usually I'm 5 pages behind and have no time to read everything.

I think I'll pass on that offer. Thanks though! HAHA

yeah there is work to keep busy then too much work, ive had too much work for like the last month... im worn out from working such retarded hours... its almost sad when you have worked so much OT that you actually dont care about the extra money and you just want a "normal" 40 hour week LOL

Yeah I know what you mean. But my FMIC has been on for a good 5000 miles now and I have no issues with movement. Only thing was the pipe on the hot side going in front of the engine make sure its deep in that coupler. Mine wasn't for a little while and it was moving around and getting scratched and wearing through the heat wrap I have on there

#2, that sounds weird. When I had the fmic on the ms3 i didn't have to attach it to the bottom...

What FMIC did you have? If it's not the CXracing, it probably has different brackets. Your top brackets were probably beefier so it didn't need any support on the bottom.
