The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

smartass

I realized I prefer a full floorboard underneath me. That and people don't see me in the FC, let alone a smaller bike.

like "danger to the manifold" floor board style? :D

Alright, alright, I'm done. haha. In all seriousness - just have a damn head on your shoulders and you'll be fine on a bike. It's such a thrill every time you are on it - can't beat it for the $$.

I wish i trusted myslef enough to get a bike lol.

Good friend of mine picked up this ducati last fall...he loves it. His last bike was an old zx7r

horrible time right now to be looking for a bike. I suggest waiting till late fall
Why do ducati's hold their value so well? ones with 10k on them are selling for 11,000. I'm looking at cbr600's with <5000 on them for 6ish thousand

I took the day off today. Just woke up to check the forums and 3 pages of engineers bitching. lulz.

Can't beat the fun/price of a bike. But I don't trust Ohio drivers not to crash into me.

And happy Friday!

You are right. It's also just probably that I now have "Dad Brain" with the kiddo due in August.

I think its the guys that have real jobs and have a lot of work to do getting pissed that the kids that have opportunities are complaining about having nothing to do.

I have a lot of work to do, but I actually enjoy it. I haven't had a lot of opportunities, which is why it pissed me off when someone bitches at the opportunities they have. Do I know exactly what's going on, no but from what it sounds like it doesn't seem like it's been completely appreciated.

Lol, Thomas. Kevin better not kill his triumph, that thing is badass. Now that he has a g/f and payments, i think he'll be a bit more cautious. Harry bought him the sv...so he didnt really take care of that one.

all you damn engineers bitching... of course working with engineers as a Drafter/Designer, i have gotten used to hearing the bitching and even get to have my own bitching session thanks to the fuckers doing the bitching right now hahaha

Jess probably knows what i mean *high five* fellow CAD Monkey!!! haha

Monsters: easier to ride than a sport bike, get beat around more by the wind since its a naked bike (yes, even with the little fly screen)

That white/red 848 is very similar to my last 600RR. I got mine all done and then they came out with that -_- my rear wheel was black to match the black swingarm and pegs were black, but other than that they were pretty much the same scheme.

I'd still like to see crash/accident info broken down. I'd like to see what percentage was rider error (too fast for a corner/not enough skill) vs. someone else being at fault (didn't see bike, turned in front of them, etc) and also what percentage were sport bikes vs cruisers... And finally: helmet or no helmet. I think if people heard about bikes crashing with riders properly geared up vs riding around in a tank top and no helmet, they'd change their mind on how "dangerous" it can be. Motorcycle deaths vs auto deaths are always going to be higher per crash, you don't have the protection around you. It's not hard to figure out. But as long as you prepare for it, you're giving yourself a much better chance (as long as you don't slide into something).

I laid my bike down twice, both times over 40mph. If not for just the boots, jacket and helmet I'd be jacked up.

I've learned the best way for me to ride, is to ride someone else's bike. Then I don't feel like testing the limits because it isn't mine lol :/

ajkulish, what kind of engineer/engineering student are you?

Edit: Also, does anyone in here have their P.E.?

I'm a mech. Engineering student, currently in automotive. I do work designing head and specialty gaskets a little, but mostly with plastics designing valve covers and oil pans

And as far as ducatis holding their price, unsure. Maybe it's sort of like owning a Ferrari? Dunno.

Lol cad monkey high five!!

Yeah for sure. Alison and I watch it a ton. "Love it or List it" is the current show we seem to be watching a lot of. The renovation part is awesome.

A few pages too late (for some of you bitching about people not working at work, you sure are posting a LOT on here!) but we love that show too. We got hooked on the one where a younger real estate couple had a hard time when the market crashed, so they started flipping houses, Flip or Flop I think it's called? It's already starting to get old though, it's literally the SAME s*** every time. They'll buy these houses CASH, then set a modest budget, then find out there's a ton more wrong with the house and blow the budget out of the water, then worry about what they can sell the house for since they have so much invested in it, then a house in the area winds up selling for a good price so they can ask more for their house, then after a short time on the market, they get multiple bidders and end up selling it for around $30,000 MORE than their asking price, usually over $50,000 profit....every single episode it's the same thing.

House Hunters is till our favorite though, always fun trying to pick what they pick. lol

And I respect that. Its just hard at times during the summer when I work full time then go to my second job to focus on stuff that doesn't interest me. I appreciate the opportunity my boss has provided for me very much. I get anything don, b**** work or not, fast and correct. I ask around for anything that needs done all the time but like today. I finished what I've been working on and there is only one guy here left in the department today so it will be slow. I can't wait till I'm old enough and have the education required to move into a field I will love. But for the time being if I want to b**** about a slow day I feel I'm entitled to it.

One of my best friends is getting married next summer and his fiance asked me last night when im going to grow up and stop dumping money into cars. My jaw almost hit the ground. I feel bad for being a dick, but i told her the day i lose interest in cars will be the day i leave this world. She kinda got pissed...lol.

I know she means well, shes been trying to hook me up with her friends for a while...but rich hudson girls dont cut it for me.
