The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

For the record, I don't see anything wrong with wanting to build your car up before tracking it. After going with Hawk HP+'s and DOT 4 fluid for my first track day, I couldn't imagine tracking without at least that setup! VERY glad I took the advice of Marlon, Dave, and the other experienced guys.

I just want to see less TALKING about tracking and AutoX'ing, and MORE TRACKING AND AUTOX'ING!!! LOL I understand if your car isn't quite where you want it to be for your first event and all, and it's still only May, but if I don't see some improvement by July, I'm gonna stir this pot again and call some mofo's out! Muahahaha!!

Josh come on out and run in Toledo. If you don't want to run the wagon than you could co-drive my car.

Crap. I'm registering for the Toledo Auto-x but am stuck at the ole class button. I don't really care what class I'm in since I don't want to compete. I'll post something in the Motorsports thread to find out what class I should run. Unless one of you kind auto-x cats would like to give me a hand via PM? Please and thank you. :)

Shoot me a PM

All I can say is wow.

And I stalled out 5 times on my way to work today :( nothing like losing power steering in the middle of a turn and then hearing the backfire when you restart still going around said corner.

Also starting the process of getting pre-approved for a house.

Will--You run Nelson clockwise, correct? I just can't remember and I've never been there myself...

I'm happy to have good brakes and summer tires (beats what I had for the hyperdrive last year, LOL! When I tracked my car on all-seasons and no pads.) for the track for the first time...if I track it this year. No need for fancy schmancy stuff. Not yet at least. I just wish I had the time to get out there. Of course, any upgrades I do along the way will be aimed towards improving performance on the track (like my coilovers... my thinking was, "why spend over 50% the cost of coilovers just to remain near stock...) Although I wish I tracked my car stock first... Anyways, enough ranting about myself and my issues...

Anyways, I'm sort of glad this all finally blew up so everyone can get over it. Again, one reason why I stopped posting so much and everything else. Just not worth my time.

Yep clockwise.

My first track day in the Miata was with OE pads, old brake fluid, and narrow hard tires so I know how you feel/felt, Chippy. It was still fun ;)

I don't think it ever hurts to add more braking power, especially if you're going to be pushing harder than normal driving :) +1 on the July thing haha

+1 and +1 again lol

Were I not getting the Sonata, I'd join you guys in Toledo.

In other news, my new passport was delivered today! finally got that out of the way...

Josh, when are you going to stop TALKING about having a baby and just get one already? Jeez... ;)

This is the point I tried to convey but it didn't come across as I was hoping. Apologies to you guys.

Marc are you bringing the RX-7 and the Miata? I am sure Lauri would not mind co-driving either....I may bring Spicy if she is ready

sleep while you can!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why do people say that? At most you save yourself 1, maybe 2 days of sleep deprivation. I really wish I could have built a "sleep tank" to draw from, but sadly that's not how it works. In fact, getting your body used to not having much sleep before hand? Probably way more useful.

Thanks! And yes, I tried to convince myself on that day that my 20,000-mile-old all seasons were the superior tire choice that day because it was cool adn had rained that morning. Some areas of the track were still wet. Needless to say, I was terribly slow, terrified, probably scared my instructor, and didn't feel safe! That's all I want if I choose to go out again this year--to feel "safe" with my car.

mine was more for sleep when she sleeps after she's here, not before she arrives. I'm not really sleeping alot less just in a different pattern which threw me off at first. Although she got her 2 month shots yesterday and was not happy all day and all night so not alot of sleep for me last night.
