The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Has anyone tried this "Rollbar and Chassis" paint by VHT. Iirc I've heard good things about them. I'm trying to think of the best way to try to rust-proof the bottom of my truck. I've got a heavy duty wire wheel for my grinder now, so I'm going to take the flaky scale stuff off, and the paint POR15, and then I was planning to use the "rock chip guard" paint to give it a heavy barrier against salt and garbage. Just wondering if anyone has experience or would know the best way to do that.

Bruce, he also put something on his roof to make it black

He was a cool dude. Yeah, he put that 3M vinyl stuff on his roof, but it came out professional looking. I wouldn't have been able to tell if he didn't tell us, and it really set his car off.

^Can you PM a couple pics to me of the Miata or post some bigger ones? I'm looking for a car like this for school and keep miles and rust off of mine.

so wait, i hold a set of wheels for several months cause i gave you my word only for you to bail last minute for "lack of money" then to see you turn around the very next ******* day and see you inquiring about buying a car... WTF??!!!

glad to see i kept my word to you even though 2 other people offered to buy them in that time of waiting... and then you do this... seriously its s*** like this that really pisses me the **** off! between people bailing on deals or flaking on previous arrangements im seriously over being the nice guy around here.... all being nice does is get you s*** on and in a position that ***** you over in the end...

I can vouch for thejeans here. I was going to buy his wheels from him but he kept to his word and held them for the guy who promised to buy them. Otherwise I would have taken them a while ago. Thejeans sticks to his word, sucks to see him ****** over for it.

+1 (eek2)

Are these wheels in question by chance 4x100, 15x7, and around 13 or less lbs?

no, oem 2005 mazda3 wheels 17x7, 5x114.3, and 19-21ish lbs, and +52ish offset

if anyone needs/wants a good set of wheels for winter, racing or whatever.... im now doing first come first serve, whoever gets money in my hands first gets the wheels... at this point i just want them gone

alright people,

I've decided to stick to a compromise between paying off my s*** and keep moving through HPDE so my ENKEIs are up for sale, should any of you want them let me know. I'll post them on the for sale section by the end of the week if nobody is interested.

ENKEI RPF-1, 17x8 +35mm offset - silver
Continental Extreme Contact DR, 225/45/17 (From the Continental Challenge Series, used by Sahlen's last year) - tires have more than 50% thread left
one of the stem valves is not right so it leaks a bit, I've had to put air back in that tire twice in a track day (lost 3 lbs)

looking for $800 - yes it's more than what I paid for them BUT these tires are in great shape! If you don't want the tires you can sell them for at least $300

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm i think 35 might be too high of an offset.........................

yeah, I thought it'd be fine with the stiff suspension but it touches the tire a bit and I don't feel like rolling the fenders out or cutting them and putting fender flares. Also, I wouldn't be able to lower the car

Yeah that's cutting it real close at 18x8 +40 I'm basically perfectly flush.

If you go to a 225/235/40/17 you will be fine......or if your fenders are rolled, some neg rear camber helps as well.

My new MSR wheels are 18x8 +35. My rears are rolled and I still rub very slightly when hitting bumps with 3 extra passengers (on stock suspension). I just need to pull the fenders out a little bit and they should be good.

I need to add more camber, but when that happens I'll have to fix the bolt that was broken on the last attempt. My fenders aren't rolled but I doubt that will help, I'll take a pic of how the fender cut into the tire last time

ok after taking a closer look rolling the fenders and an alignment might do the trick, here's what the tire looks like

Do I need another set of 8" wide Enkei's??? +35 is actually a little high for me (+30 is perfect) but man are there so many more tire options in 17"...

Well the rods and pistons are in for Spicy and the block is headed to a machine shop, still waiting on the oil pan and motor mounts for the passenger and driver sides. Won't make Mid-Oho next month, but we will look to some other events like BeaveRun.

I like the progress!! Can't wait to see Spicy running again.

I would love to do BeaveRun again. I didn't know they had those Flat Out days so often. It looks like 2 every month. Which event are you planning on attending? For $180 (or $170 for group 3), that's a reallllly good deal.
