The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

$50 + shipping (from IN) Deal or no deal?

I'm going back to N/A, but I don't want the factory box in there...lol

I'd say deal. what other goodies might you be getting rid of or need oem parts for trade?

I'll have to see when I get it apart. I know I need a stock exhausted manifold, or maybe some other piece that fits right there? At this point, I'm not 100% sure what I need to keep under there.

I sent the invite to Evan, and Phen too if he wants, to come over and scope it out with/for me. It'll be nice to have a stock one side by side for comparison. lol

I've got a super extreme JDM exhaust manifold off a 626 that doesn't have the stupid built-in cat on it. You'll need downpipe for it, and I'm not sure how hard/expensive that would be to come by. Also not sure about the sensors bungs or whatever. Just throwing out options.

Might work. Which part is the downpipe? I mean, I know downpipes to be a big chunk of exhaust the drops and goes under the motor, usually to the firewall. This thing seems to have the exhaust manifold, then a seperate chunk below it that the turbo bolts to, then a little 7-8" piece that bolts on the bottom of that and bends under the motor, then a piece of regular exhaust tubing that bolts to that and goes out back...

VERY techical terms there...I know. hehe

that's your s & j pipes for the down pipe, your terms aren't far off

I think just those 4 peices, exhaust mani, turbo, s& j down pipe. A n/a exhaust mani should fit right to the exhaust where the j pipe ends. as far as cats I'm not sure. I think the n/a had one where the turbo is so an after market header would require one after it. or you could run catless

Catless would be nice, as long as it didn't throw codes/make the car run like crap. I would mention emissions, but they barely check anymore, at least up that far. If they do, it's just a mirror under the driver door. haha

How many damn o2 sensors are on these?? I must've seen at least 2-3 bungs, and maybe another that was blocked off?

2 one before the cat and one after. the j pipe has a bung blokced off. you can run a simulator and not throw a code

Sneaky sneaky!

Thing's got an airbag light on as well, but I can diagnose that with the scanner at work. Might have something to do with the steering wheel airbag. The horn doesn't work, and pushing it, it feels empty, like there's no airbag in there!?

Check the fuse first. I start with the easy stuff!

Hmm, I think all my exhaust manifold has is an EGR fitting and one o2 bung. I've only got one o2 sensor! :) Josh, to answer your question about the downpipe, for my manifold, it's the piece of pipe that connects to the manifold right after all 4 runners collect into one. It runs down the front of the engine a bit, and then bends back under the car, has a flex pipe in it at some point, and then bolts onto the cat. My old one bit the dust when it blew a big hole in the flex pipe. I've never heard of that happening before, but it did, lol.

Get ahold of me one day. I'll help you go thru some of the details on the car.

Thanks for the help guys! I appreciate and am going to need all the help I can.

Phen- Evan is shooting over tomorrow after work, if you wanted to just ride with him?

Oh, good morning Ohioans. How was everyone's weekend?

Productive!!

How was mid Ohio for everyone? Amazing weather for it!

The weekend was pretty productive, broke a camshaft bolt because I assumed ft/lbs and didn't read the instructions telling me in/lbs. Mocked up the fmic and painted the crash bar.

The surgery

I think I need 5mm shorter bolts or ad some washers and it will be perfect
