The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

true, that is a perfect canidate for the kl swap since it needs a new engine. for only $3500 i would take it as is and part out the engine, I think in the long run you'd get more back that way than him doing it and takeing some off.

Ok, ppl WTF I tried to put my new wheels on and guess what? I will tell you, my lug nuts are too big I have no room to put the lug wrench or even a socket into the holes. What now? New lugs, Jenny will s*** herself if I have to spend a pile of money on lug nuts! In case you couldn't tell I am pretty pissed right now! Help a brotha out here.

you'll prolly need a "splinedrive" style lug nut. they aren't too expensive. I've had them for several years now.

yeah just a set of "tuner lugs" $35ish at a local parts store

I got on the Summit site, and they have "Gorilla" tuner lugs.
1000th post! wooohooo!

Don't despair, Larry. Like Chris said, you just new new "tuner" style lug nuts. I got my locking Gorrilla lug nuts from Summit for ~$25 three years ago and they work great. They aren't lightweight or flashy but I don't see the point of the lug nut trend, honestly.

Josue, that red boosted P5 looks like a killer deal. Shoot, if I had some extra cash and a way to get it up here I would buy it as a spare P5. I would like to have a project car and DD someday. Everyone has very valid points with the FS-DE motor. We can talk shop in person this weekend and you can see some up close. I'll help as much as I can. And sorry if I sounded too "this is the best car EVER!". But I guess I've just lucked out with my P5 being reliable, burns about 1/2 quart of oil per oil change. The biggest issue with my car is the rust. But it will probably turn into a track car someday anyway.

True. I'll have to check prices on the stuff then...so I could price it right and not give everything away. From the browsing I've done, it seems that there's a steady demand for Turbo parts?

No problem, I was the same way with my truck everytime I saw someone bitching about them being the biggest piles of junk ever!

Hopefully he returns my pm soon...I'm anxious to learn more about the car!

Even with the amount of people saying "You're going to spend a bunch of money, time, and effort, to get an extra 30 hp..." people are still trying to boost these cars.

It's true... some people just never learn...

That's the route I initially thought of, rent one down there and just use it one way. That way, my MPG's wouldn't be suffering on the ride down there. It's about $110 I believe...

Towing with a Trailblazer is not a problem. I have been renting Uhaul trailers and towing with my 6-cylinder Trailblazers for a few years.
A tow dolly is $40 a day and a trailer is $50 a day if you return to the same place. The tow dolly is annoying when it is empty because it bounces all over the place and makes a bunch of noise, so if you plan on doing a round trip, I would suggest a trailer.

Maybe I could capitalize on that then...haha

I didn't figure it would be, since this would be one of the only times it'd be hooked up to something. I know what you mean about those dollies too! Loud as hell! That's why I thought about just getting one down there, but if it's a great deal cheaper to round trip it, then I'll get one local. Or I could spend $0 and just use the neighbor's trailer. I don't think it would hurt my MPG too much dragging it down there empty.

And, this is all still speculation at this point...the Guy made the thread, and has yet to log back on since. I sent him an email last night hoping he checks that more often than this site, and I don't know if my PM went through since there wasn't a saved copy in my sent box. Still nothing though. I did see pics that someone else took at a show, looks like a pretty nice ride!

The Conrads on Triplette in Akron did a great job yesterday if anyone is looking for an alignment who is lowered and doesn't want to deal with a shop trying to hassle them. Keith at the desk was very helpful and Lewis doing the work on my car said he does a lot of NORA cars and called me to see what specs I wanted before working on the car.

I also asked about mounting/balancing low profile tires and Keith said it's not a problem. So I'll be dropping of my ASA's there tomorrow. Thanks for the tip, Marlon. Great guys down there. :)

Wish I would've known that with my Colorado! I must've had that truck aligned 15-20 times over the 3 years it was lowered. I WAS always playing with the suspension setup, but sometimes the shops would just do a REAL crap job. And as long as I owned that thing...the wheel was NEVER straight...not even from the factory. I just learned to live with it...lol

So I'm starting the racing season this weekend and heading up to Barber in AL to cheer on Mazda. It's only a 3hr drive from my place and is a straight shot across I-20. Now comes the choice..... Miata or MS6? Hrrrmmmmm......

ooh that's a toughy...but miata is always the answer hehe

id say let the weather be the chosing factor...

if its gonna be a gorgeous day then top down is the only option, if it looks like its a chance or rain and or chilly then ms6 is the one id go with....
