The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Remind me to smack you some day for the F20 in a Miata. If you want an engine with no torque that revs like a little b**** with power up high, just build the BP to do it. That way, you won't have to worry about the valve springs made of glass in the AP1's.

or swap a rotary into the miata, same idea, no torque and can rev the bejesus out of it hahaha

LOL!! I would never do that anyway...because the engine would end up costing 2-3 times more than the Miata (NA)! If I were to swap anything into a Miata, it would be a KL

Torque is for towing. Go to town, Evan 2!

There's a guy that put a KL in a Miata on youtube. The hardest bit was getting the trans, because the KL is a fwd motor normally. I think he ended up using an rx7 trans, perhaps with a adapter bracket for the bell housing. I'd link the video, but the KL doesn't sound good, so it's a disgrace. It's really the only one I've ever heard that didn't sound good, I don't know how he managed it. Well the one about "Gunning for Vettes" sounds bad, but this one is okay.

I like the Gunning for Vettes vid :)

I just re-watched it and it was better than I remembered. It must have been all the rocks hitting it that I remembered. He mentioned he used the rx7 bellhousing and the stock Miata gearbox for it.

All of the retards commenting on it are like "wow, 180hp, that's nothing, <font color="magenta">i've got a mullet and my 2.8 in my camaro sucks way more than that.</font>"

But they didn't realize that's to the ground (even though he said that) and that will put you into the 13's pretty easily.

Btw, where'd the t-shirt order thread go?

I just got my t-shirts today and they look great. I was talking to RS via PM's last night and asked if anyone else bought shirts yet and apparently the boss deleted the whole thread because Jackalope is the "official" vinyl supplier for 247. Even though RS did a ton of work and helped with the final Team Ohio logo. But they are still available, just PM him and he'll make one for you.

So who are the Miata gurus here? I'm looking for info on torsen differentials?

If you're just looking to identify them, it's quite the process..

Sounds like politics. Thanks for the info.

I have bought a shirt from RS, and Justine is getting a "special" one made up, using Wes and RS design.....okay I'll post it, you forced me:

Yeah, RS showed me that pic. That's awesome. Justine's gonna dig it and look very cute in it. (And I'm not hitting on her, don't worry, Chippy.)

Here are mine.

If anyone wants a Team Ohio shirt made, PM "rsvinylgraphics" and he'll make one for you, $20 shipped.

Larry, you know a route I think you could go with wheels? 16" FD RX-7 OEM wheels. They are classy, lightweight, wide, and completely functional. I think they look nice, although plain. You can find a set for a couple hundred bucks. Paint them a nice color and slap ridiculously wide/meaty rubber on them to fill the wheel gap. I know that I would use a set, either for track or winter setups--or both!

Pros: Lightweight, wide, strong, 16" rubber is cheap, OEM wheels are cheap
Cons: OEM, plain style, maybe too small for the 3 leaving a large wheel gap with stock suspension

I think this is becoming a bit of a "fad" but I have always liked the look personally. Thoughts?

For some reason when I guote or do anything outside of a regular comment everything I type gets all muddled up some how.
Shame on me but I have no idea what an FD RX7 wheel looks like.

no worries they arent that sexy but they are light and a decently wide wheel so that makes them cool, but far from pretty haha
