The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Yeah, stick with 17s. I almost wish I would've downsized to 17s sometimes. As for me and being BALLA I think everyone here knows I'm not. I'd have to do some serious digging for the link, but somewhere I bash someone outside of the Ohio section when it comes to wheels. Something like, "...you are not baller because you don't have OZ racing rims like me, so GTFO" I forgot the magenta font, and the fact that it wasn't in the Ohio section...it was funny though!

Ya Nate I saw the link. Just too much money for me. Levi I could go 18" but I don't want to roll/pull my fenders. Aren't 18" tires alot more expensive than 17"? Modding on a budget blows!

18" tires will cost a lil more

oh and width (6.5",7",7.5",8",8.5",9" etc) and offset (+48, +45, +42, +40 etc) of the wheels is more important on the 3 than the height (16",17",18",19" etc) of the wheels

example a 17x8 +40 wheel with a 205/50/17 tire and an 18x8 +48 with a 225/40/17 tire are both going to very close to the same height, circumference etc etc, only difference is the 17" wheel will stick out 8mm closer to the fender making it likely to have to roll fenders

hope you understood that, if not i can break it down a little better

Ya, I get it. Just don't know what combinations will work without a problem. I am curious though, what are these 18" wheels you speak of?

But you got OZ's, you must be BALLER. lol

the 18's were the ones on shawn's 3 at phens cookout (my old silver wheels with a polished lip ill find a few pics)

i didnt have problems rolling the icw's at stock height, it wasnt til i lowered the car that i had to roll the rear fenders but even that is pretty easy haha

heres a pic at stock height with the wheels

how do you figure... i took it as he means the guy that buys a set of work/rays/etc etc wheels then acts like hes better than everyone else cause he bought a 3-4k set of wheels for an 18k car haha

If you buy a set of 3-4k Rays/Work/etc.... They better come with a reach around. That's more like the 20" Chrome rims.... ridin' spinnaz dawg!

That is a good looking wheel. I doubt I could swing a set of wheels and a set of tires at the same time. If I stay with 17" I can just change my Kuhmos over and call it a day. Unless of course those^ are cheap! lol

lol at all this baller wheel talk....I'm like everyone else I like bragging about the deals I got.

Tribute wheels with 0 miles for $205 shipped from MO...sold for $200
MX-5 wheels with tires that lasted me two summers for $475 shipped
A set of Blizzaks off of CL for $100 that are now on there 3rd season on my car.

:D

i think it might be time to get rid of the protege.

I'm temped to fix it and flip it, but I don't know that it would be worth it. I looked on CL and there are other 5's in my area going for between 3-3800$, so it's not like I could undercut them by much and still pay for the parts. I could fix that stuff myself, but the tires will probably be the most.

With all this wheel talk, it just reminded me how much I'd like to get a set of Bisimoto Fighter Specials for the Miata. Or the Future Miata, I should say. It'd seriously cost me more for the wheels than what I paid for the car, and without tires.. Time to look for used on the Honda forums..

all you want is 2k for it? hmmmm....

the engine doesnt burn oil... and the body is in good shape for all the snow and salt it has seen. the interior is well kept too. tires are the tough thing. the brakes are still good, it is that they could use new pads and rotors.... same from when i bought it 70K miles ago. lol.

I was kinda thinkin that too, they gor for around 5-6 here. Or have my fiance drive that and get rid of her pos focus but she wants a small SUV.

for some reason the pic of the wheels even provided a link too is so big it cuts off the wheels and won't let me scroll down. Edit, just googled them, I like the old civic wagon and the wheels

Morning everyone....

Hope you feel better Nate and congrats on the job!

^Nice. Crazy to see what some Honda cars can do with a "little" modding. I love it when theylook almost bone stock though.

morning, thanks, not sure how i made it throught my interveiw yesterday with out a sneeze or anything. Now I just need to remind myself that the money is for saving up towards a house and a wedding, not for modding

My best friend is very big into Honda, so I got into it a lot. In the future, I really want to swap an F20C (from the S2000) into a Miata and call it a day lol.

Bisimoto is probably one of the best out there imo. He actually built one of the new CR-Z's to like 500+ hp, while still retaining the hybrid part.
