The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

no worries they arent that sexy but they are light and a decently wide wheel so that makes them cool, but far from pretty haha

I think Bruce(reitrof) rocks the FD rims on his NC pretty well. It's all about how you apply it, yes?

Cons: OEM

OEM is a huge bonus in my book. I love keeping a sharp, clean, OEM look that makes people pause and wonder if in fact it did come from the factory that way. I hate the wheels that obviously look wrong on the car, and it's painfully obvious what is "modded."

Uh, yeah...

IMO, OEM wheels look much better than a lot of after market wheel choices. Now, they're not going to be as light, and probably have a terrible offset, but usually they're pretty bomb proof as far as bending them. So it comes down to what you're looking for, and your budget.

This is one of my all time favorites, FD wheels on a 2nd gen MX6

Here's the thread with MX6's with most other Mazda oem wheels, and you can see which styles compliment the body styling, or which ones look out of place. Hopefully it gives you some insight. ;)

I agree... Certain stock rims seem to look a lot better on other cars. MSP rims on a P5 for example. RX-8 Rims on almost every other Mazda... lol

the mx-6 looks great with them, the aveo looks like crap no matter what you do to it

bruce's wheels looked too big to be FD's and his spokes were larger, thicker and flatter from what i remember, i seriously dont think his are FD's (unless he's gotten new wheels since i saw his car at LimeRock)

I plan to stay at stock height for now so a 16" wheel would look rediculous. The FD looks great on the MX6, not sure about MZ3 though. I love RX8, MSP, & even the stock wheels on a 3, just not as much. I want some options in my garage, not a wheel ***** but close. lol

Bruce does have FD wheels but they are true JDM wheels so they are a bit different from the USDM everyone else has.

I just got my t-shirts today and they look great. I was talking to RS via PM's last night and asked if anyone else bought shirts yet and apparently the boss deleted the whole thread because Jackalope is the "official" vinyl supplier for 247. Even though RS did a ton of work and helped with the final Team Ohio logo. But they are still available, just PM him and he'll make one for you.

I had a feeling that was going to happen. It's happened before to him, it shouldn't be a surprise.

thanks for clearing it up jeff :D
see those look better than the "typical" fd wheels everyone is trying to pick up...

i hear FD's and i think of the wheels everyone does, not Bruce's wheels but yes Chris, Bruce's miata pulls off the FD's very well (even though his arent the "typical" set of FD's i was refering to haha)

I wonder what size and width these are. I think they'd look pretty cool if they were 17" on a 3. Too bad you gotta keep it a 4x4 for now, though.

Some Evo 9's would be good, too, imo. They're 17x8 iirc, but not light like aftermarket. Shouldn't be too different weight wise from other oem offerings.

I think the miata wheels are 17x7 and the Evo 9's are 17x8 witha 38 offest. The weight on mine (evo 8) are 18 lbs and they are 17x8 so I'm sure the evo 9's aren't far off. Those are beefy tires in that pic.

I think playing flag football last night really helped get rid of my cold, now I just need Chipotle and that should take care of it

On the staying 4X4, the damn thing drags in certain situation now so going low would be silly in my opinion. I am thinking about speed3 springs to get a little stiffer suspension without the drop. I am in the process of getting speed3 front and rear sway bars as well, should make for a nice set up.

I recognize the Enkie logo but does anyone know what the other symbol is that is cast into the wheel (the one at about 12:25) I see it on about every wheel.
