The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Very true...for an 8" wheel, I would consider at least a 245 tire
245 on an 8.... are you mad? LOL Here a a couple of pics, one of the wheels for sale on the car:

And here is a photo of the Enkei before I rolled the fenders. The 245 fits perfect on the 8.5

Can I sneak a tire question in here, Sean? How do you like those Dunlops? I have to get new summer tires in the spring and were thinking about them for my DD tires that will see a couple Hyperdrives.

My bad...I meant to say 235.

I had issues with my RX8's when I first put them on. They had 225/45 tires and rubbed to the point where they bent the lip...

After doing research, I found out people didn't have issues running 225/40 tires without rolling. Mine were 225/45, so the taller tire caused the rubbing. Now that I'm rolled, I can run the wider wheel and tire with no issues.

So 235 is probably the biggest tire you want on a 8" wheel. You might be able to run the 245 on a 8", but 245 would probably fit better on the 8.5" or 9".

The Star Specs are pretty much awesome. They are what I was going to get for the MSM.

Hands down the best summer tire I have ever owned. Very predicable grip around corners. They will talk to you for awhile before letting go. And when they do it's not very abrupt. Good life as well.

so evan (#1)'s winter project got me thinking about a winter project for myself and i came up with one... still dunno if it will work or whether i want to attack that much work but i figured id post in here and get you guys thoughts about my idea

the winter project idea is to totally strip all the paint off the OZ's (since the previous owner painted them black) and while my thought was to repaint them ive been thinking alot lately about going through all the work to polish them... what do you guys think? haha

My dream wheels!!!! Don' flame me if I'm wrong, but in Japan these come in a black finish in which all the lettering is red--I want those so bad to go with my black/red theme of my car. Instead I bought OZs....pffft

edit: and before someone mentions just re-finishing these pictured above--imagine the coolness factor of having specialty, rare, imported wheels.....

You could always go through all that work and not like it, then just respray. But if you do like it, it will be pretty gratifying.

Yep. That's what I was going with. I'll be talking with you about it soon enough.
