The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Yay, the temperature got above 40F today so the RX-7 gets to come out and play!

s***, did that just rhyme?

Oh my goodness. I can't wait to hear those things on track. Nice! And the engineering in F1 is what makes it so appealing to me. All the little tricks they do to make their cars faster are really cool.

I dunno, I'm all for small displacement turbos engines, but that's for the cars that I want to drive.. Can't wait til this environmental junk blows over. (rolleyes)

Racing is racing. They shouldn't have to worry about making fast cars more eco friendly. I love small displacement, but will never be the same as racing with the big boys.

The Mazda ALMS P2 car is powered by the 2.0L Turborcharged MZ-R DISI over 475HP.......

i got more news today... control arm won't be in till monday, and turns out the MB wheels are discontinued in that size so either way I had to buy new winter tires... they are going to try and fix the wheel, but if they can't then I'm SOL. Either way, those will be sold a.s.a.p., now I have to pay all this s*** off before I can look for another set of 17s for my contis.

As for the coilover, it seems it didn't suffer form this impact, it's been making some noise for a while. Talked to BC North America and it looks like I just have to tighten a bolt to fix that, and they might send me a replacement part to fix something else even though they're out of warranty.

Pablo, how much are they charging you for a new LCA?

don't know yet, but because I had them check the subframe to make sure it was OK, so far it's @ $386 without the LCA (my deductible is $500). I have to check tomorrow if that included the new wheel, depending on that I may fix stuff myself or have them keep going. Either way they'll align the car to the specs I want (2.5 front, 1.25 rear)

IMO money! Unless they put the car on a frame machine and meusured it completly. I mean they really haven't done much have they? You are the one that pointed out that the wheel was shifted to the rear.

Anyone who wants a sweet-ass, handmade, custom knitted, mother of all knob warmers, shift knob cover for a fraction of the cost of competitors...PM me

yes and no, today I actually talked to the mechanic working on her and showed me things on the car. he told me everything he found from the beginning, the one who is retarded is the woman at the front desk who can't seem to relay information back and forth. he did take measurements after I requested it, and he also explained the subframe is not symmetrical so it can't be checked by eye

Still seems like too much money, but I'm not there either to see and hear all of what is going on. Hang in there, good luck.

yeah, it hurts but I rather have them do all the work now and have the insurance pay for whatever comes after that if need be, they still need to make sure everything is OK after the LAC is replaced. rather have them do it now than do something myself and have something else be broken, then I would have more down time. ordered a set of Michelin X-Ice Xi2 from tire rack, won't be able to drive her without them as the MB wheels are still up in the air
