The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Is NPR that channel that has Rush Windbag on it? I was working at a customers site yesterday and he had that on... I've never wanted to shoot myself in the face more in my life.. (eek2)

NPR is Nationl Public Radio, more on the other side of Rush. :)
Satimko, I know it is simple most people do not know that.

Toyota, we won't stop!
I have listened to the NPR radio news story about the family that crashed when their accelerator pedal was stuck. They even had time called the police, but it was to late. Four people died in a crash! Year ago police car tried to stop the car by driving in front of it and slowing it down.
My dear American friends. I know most of you drive automatic and not aware of Neutral position of the transmission. If you , God forbidden, drive Toyota or Lexus and get in to stuck pedal situation, just shift to N position and then brake to slow down. Most stick shift drivers are more aware of this.
Stay safe!
I remember that story and that was the first thing I thought too. Sad part is, I asked my wife what she would do if the accelerator got stuck. Without hesitating she said, "Hit the brakes!"

That was the first time I've facepalmed my wife...

One of the stories involved a CHP officer, who was a driving instructor for them. He did everything he was supposed to and still could not get the car to stop. Toyota still is out there denying that it has issues, which is just crazy....

I guess shutting the car off isn't a viable alternative either is it?

Everything is power assisted, brakes, steering, etc. The driver did all of that and the care was still moving a a high rate of speed.

NPR is only radio that i listen to, which is nice since we don't have the internet at work so all we have is the radio and cd's...

i pledge my support every year!

Me too. I never listen to the radio outside of work (a small shop) where we listen to NPR for the classical in the morning till lunch, then we take turns on the cd player. The time between my uncle (good taste in music) to mine is rough though. This one cat at work only has Metallica and Sublime. bleh.

You're suppose to do that right before you yank up on the e-brake.
..and eject your self...;)
Today was Nissan Sentra Se-R Spec V day. I saw 5 different ones on 77. Also, it semis to be VW bad lights day. 50% of all VW I saw today had lights burned out

I saw a cop car with one headlight out the other day. I SOOOO badly wanted to pull him over for it.

Well I got a ticket for a headlight out once so I would've loved to burn "the man" for once. I was on the Penn Turnpike at 10pm on a sunday on my way back from DC and my bulb blew, like they always do on P5's. And a cop pulled me over and just wouldn't budge on giving me the ticket no matter how much I pleaded with him.
