The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Someone bashes miata owner elitists more than me!? Wow. They must be a real dick. Haha

But if it's not a Miata owner saying it, then it shouldn't be an issue? Then again....

Congrats on the promotion Pablo! Recognition as well as some extra money is always nice!

Don't remember if I posted before and if not 'sorry' and if I did 'sorry' but congrats to all of you future parents!!! And for those of you expecting girls....God bless you!!! Here's my baby girl and also the root of my daily headaches due to boys and puberty, mood swings suck! lol

Uncle Marlon , will pay the boys a visit and put a whoopin on their asses!

I'd drive a Miata, have a deal worked out with Freedom, if I can fit in the drivers seat after my surgery, I can have a full weekend of testing in one of their cars, so look out, I am all over it.

yea, its ALL your fault!! hahahah :P jk

i think we let her slide this time, shes still new with only 368 posts HAHAHA

thats quite effective too hahaha

hehe...having the popo in the family has some advantages.

Yeah... she's definitely grown up a bit since last time I saw her. Jeez. Kids getting old man!

lol...just a bit. That they are and missed my chance to send them to Neverland, the home of Peter Pan not MJ. lol

Like Josh said, I understand the appeal of them. I'll just never own one. And I don't like the miata talk in my build thread, I don't care if its talked about anywhere else. Ya big baby. Lulz

Off to post in your build thread. :p

Thank you Uncle Marlon!! :) That's a sweet deal you got there, go get 'em and be sure some vids are posted!

I know I am late to the conversation and just not feeling the Rotary love, but I currently own a 79 rx7 and an 83 rx7 and I think with the right mods that they can be great track day/autox cars. I have always driven rear drive Mazda products for racecars (2 Miatas and 6 Rx-7's) and love the way that they handle, yes I will agree that the na rotary is under powered but you can always make them lighter. My SA is currently about 1600# and running a wopping 125 hp and 115 torque but I can probalby smoke most speed3/6, MSP in an auto-x all day long. I own an '07 Speed3 for a daily driver and there is no doubt about it that its a fast car but the torquesteer doesn't make the car fun in the twisty stuff.

I was going to say AJ, get whatever year Marc's blue Rx-7 is (I don't know my chassis codes very well) because that thing is gorgeous!

i saw that at mid ohio and fell in love. i just dont like the fact that it has a solid rear axle. i love the weight, the balance, and the looks, but the solid rear is not doing it for me. can i swap the irs from an fc into the fb or sa?

The car I own is an SA (1979-80) FB('81-'85) FC ('86-'91) FD ('93-'95)

Anything can be done it just a matter of cost and skill. The rear end in my car is a solid rear axle on my car is not stock I replaced it with a Tri-link and a Panhard bar which gets rid of the bind that 1st gen rx7s have if you lower them to much or replace the bushings with a harder material. The panhard bar is adjustable so I can dial in/out over steer. And the Trl-link reduces axle hop coming out of corners and at launchs. The IRS suspension is nice to have but it is very heavy. Also check out what kind of rear suspension the current Mustangs are using.

Funny story, I was over at a buddy's house last night and they've got a 4 month old daughter (freaking. adorable.)

At one point I told her "...and one day, I'm going to have to teach your daddy how to clean a shotgun on his porch." To which he replied: "Seriously... I used to be a teenage boy... I know what they're like."

Yeah, that's why I'd never have a Lotus Super 7 / Caterham. Garbage I tell you!
