The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

^ IDK I guess we can run either SM or SMF. SMF just seperates us from the RWD and AWD. It really doesn't matter to me that much I guess. I'm competitive no matter who I race against. It just would be nice to have a class that isn't empty in our area like SMF usually is. I looked back at last years point and the most one person raced in that class was 3 times and the most at one race was 2 cars. I think I would like to play with the Fisher's blue EVO, the red IS LExus, and the Cobra that are consistantly racing and only running about 2 seconds faster with Rcomps when I was using dead Falkens. Look at the times at the last couple Fostoria events. At the events we competed I would have placed 3rd and 4th with what I ran in thoughs classes, add Rcomps, SSAFC, and MAYBE a FMIC w/ a little boost change, and a little more driver mod and we're talking track sleeper/BEAST! :)

We'll come out and play with you guys at the airport events. Love that pavement!

lets organize a team ohio autocross event.

and corey did you already buy all those wheels? which one of your current sets are you selling.

I will be buying those if I get the money in time and selling the 16" bronze rims. ^Should be a good time!

I don't see anything in his post stating that it would be easy... Am I missing something here?

No, there wasn't. I'm just saying it's a lot easier to organize one after you've put in some time behind the scenes. Which is to say, it's a lot easier to do something once you know how to do that thing ;)

I believe that. I'm sure that we can hook up with a few people around here that are involved with autocross if that was the case. Events like that are dangerous if you don't do them right.

As simple as that huh? I'm gonna take a shot in the dark here and guess that you've never actually helped organize one of these things.

to clarify i mean, wait til the NWORSCCA autocross schedule is out, pick an event, and have people from team ohio come and participate. not make our own event.

I'm not saying its Kevin's case, but I hate people who think that they're better than me because they are "green" when clearly they have no ******* clue what they're doing

oh me too, and i wouldn't call myself green...lol, i go out for drives, support and watch racing...basically all a fuel waster! haha

That kind of logic is very dumb to me. For the difference you'll spend paying for a new(er) car and new(er) car insurance, you'll not save anything in gas money. Hybrids don't do that well on gas. My mom's Prius gets about 38 average. My buddy pulls 38-39 on the highway in his 02 Civic, and modded 3's do the same apparently. I know you don't live far from work, so I'd guess you don't do much driving as a whole. I know I don't.

well i think that it's dumb that they don't have the skyactiv mazda2 over here for us to buy! lol
wes, the only hybrid worth getting (for me) would be the 1st gen Insight, because it can get 55-65 mpg...
spot on about the environmental impact too, we don't use cadmium anymore and batteries are getting much better!

Wes is spot on! It will take 15-20 years for you to see the value of a hybrid car. If you are person that likes to have a new car every 5-6 years it does not make sense to buy one.

he is! buying a hybrid brand new does not make financial sense at all! much higher base price compared to many models that get just around the same mpg's or better for much cheaper.

Damn....these guys SURE hate Hybrids! :lol2:

and they all have excellent points! and i'm not too fond of them either...i don't really want a hybrid, i want a car that can easily get over 50mpg's...there aren't many that do...

It does take a lot of work to run and set up an event. I am sure the my friends at NWOR, would not mind helping us out.

i was just talking have a bunch of team ohioans to come to an already organized event lol.

and kevin the perfect car for you seems to be a honda crz...

I just realized that I'm coming up on 7 years on this forum. I read a thread where a guy was asking about an ebay intake with a link to the specific one. It brought back so many memories. I've learned everything about cars on this forum and through Mazdas. 7 years is almost a third of my life...
