The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Did any one notice in the video of the hill climb that most of the car that wrecked had KW shock sponsership? I guess I will have to stay away from those.

I really liked the old school Opel Kedetts and gen 1 VW golfs they looked pretty bad ass.

Someone doesn't know the difference between *event* sponsorship / contingency and *car* sponsorship ;)
Chances are, most, if not all of those cars were NOT actually sponsored by KW, but KW has contingency covering that event (or series, if there is one) for cars running their product that have their stickers on for the event. Same way Mazdaspeed doesn't sponsor my car, but if I win a national-level event that they offer contingency money for, I'll get $300 assuming I'm running their sticker package.

To be fair though, they actually make pretty high quality stuff, and are very popular over in Europe.

We have a winner, the man with the twins has done it again!

Perhaps crashing with a KW decal is how they paid the contingency money? Haha!
Those Opals made me happy. My dad had a few Opals back in the day, I loved those cars.

So here's a quick question for the heel-toe downshifters. Which style do you use? The true heel on the throttle and toe on the brake OR the left side of the foot on the brake and roll to the throttle with the right side?

I use the latter but have a hard time reaching the throttle when wearing driving shoes. Just curious.

I just started messing around with this, mind reader. lol Been doing the ladder as well, practice definitely makes perfect!

I prefer to put a majority of my foot on the brake and just roll over onto the throttle but in my MS3 the throttle is too far away so I go with the heel method. I have this in my Miata: http://flyinmiata.com/index.php?deptid=5677&parentid=0&stocknumber=21-74000 1990-97 to make the first style work.

Those are pretty cool!

Has anyone tried adjusting the pedals to make this easier? Saw this suggestion in those links Will posted the other day...

Thanks for the link, Will. I'll take a look at Phens Miata pedals, maybe they will fit my Protege's. I've got some Pilot pedal covers on there to help, but they still aren't wide enough.

I use the first method, the pedals on the MSM are close enough that ir's easy to do. If only the brake pedal didn't have to go down that far... I still think it's not normal, I need someone else to take a look and confirm
