The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

^nice I thought about getting them, but didn't know if they would be worth it. Anybody else have any input on them.

I don't believe they really give you the performance gains they advertise, but the all important "butt-dyno" told me it was smoother and felt stronger at higher RPMS. After the install, I'm not sure the kit was made for a protege. But you guys know me, I'll make it work somehow.

Thought I would ask you guys in here too. Do you guys think I should invest in a set of coilovers next year or just rock out the Tokico lowering springs?

Coilovers are amazing. My switch from strut/spring combo to coilovers was a huge difference. If you plan on keeping the car for a while, invest in coilovers

Hittin those corners on 3! I've been debating coilovers recently but it won't happen anytime soon. Since you autocross I would say it would be a good investment

I have to say, after riding in Pablo's 3 a bunch going down to the Mitty and back, I'm totally sold on coilovers. It makes my Illuminas and Eibach springs feel like stock mashed potato mush junk. I don't have an upgraded rear sway, so I'm not sure how much that adds to it. If they hold up okay for street abuse, especially for the cold weather stuff, then I'd say go for it.

Between the bar alone on the stock and AWR rear swaybar for the MSP there is a huge difference, especially when relocating/adjusting rear the endlinks. The only thing left I can do in STX suspension wise is a 3 point ladder/sub brace and coilovers. I have KSport RR, but they are way to violent for the road and will riun them. Probably sell those and buy a nice set from AWR or BC.

Something fully adjustable such as the BCs is nice. I know my car is different, but the BC coilovers are 33-34 way adjustable damping. Right now, my rears are set to 16 and fronts to 13. Sitting up front is stiff and controlled--sitting in the rear (from what I've been told) is unbearable for more than 20 minutes of driving. So there you ahve the options of going even stiffer for autoX yet backing it way down for DDing. And they are a pretty good price as well!

Found my front endlink lost a nut. Don't know when, but it is disconnected on the left side and still have the rear sway bar off. Turns like s*** and will be all fixed tomoroow.

Were you still gonna be able to swing it this coming Saturday?

I can't remember if the surprise b-day party for my aunt is this weekend or next. I'll have to double check with momma. She's turning 50 and they're bringing some family in from outta state.

Okay cool, I am picking up another part I need to install on Tuesday.

With that much body roll, I'd say bigger sway bars. LOL. Are you on S-techs? I know they're relatively soft, but I didn't expect that soft.

Explains the extreme roll in the front that I noticed. It happened to me once too. That much load does funny stuff to suspension bits.

Debating left over pizza, cereal, or flapsticks (think corndog with pancake and sausge on a stick). I'm leaning towards pizza cause it has bacon

Yah, I was looking at the pictures and was wondering why there was so much body roll there and not at the Gueaga Lake event. So I started looking around and noticed that I only have 1 corner of my suspension out of the 4 is connected to a sway bar (I had the rear on in the pics), but I might have broken that rear swaybar clamp then too. Oh well, all is fixed and ready to go for this weekend. I have solo driving school on Saturday to get some extra pointers and event #2 on Sunday.

Oh and Phen the suspension consist of Tokico HP struts, Tokico lowering springs, AWR trailing arms, AWR rear swaybar w/ adjustable endlinks. The only things I have left to change for STX is Coilovers, AWR lateral arms, adjustable front endlinks, and 3 point sub brace. If I don't get her repainted next year she will then be a suspension beast.
