The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Morning....

Larry, Phen said it best....how they are cast is the biggest difference, the Work, Volk, BBS etc will be stronger and weigh less due to this process.

Hey rockin...that's a kickass deal you have for that 6! Should you jump on it...remember me if you want to find a good home for that MB grill. :) Yes, the vultures are out.

you all are overblowing the rota bashing, seriously....

just cause they are desgined to look like a more expensive wheel doesnt make then a crappy wheel... you do realize that Konig Subzero's are just rebranded Rota's and yet many people think Konig is a good wheel brand but yet Rota is still crap

i know several guys that have beat the hell out of their Rota's and they are still just as true/nice as the day they bought them

hell my buddy hit a pot hole, blew the tire and the rota was still true, so again you are overblowing the "quality" on rotas

Larry, if you want a set of Rota's for your 3, then go for it...

lol. too bad you would have to paint it again. pretty soon it will be every p5 color inside. lol. i guess... 300 bucks then since there is already such high demand for it.

lol

Don't forget that 75% of the world's wheels come from the same place anyway... which means same manufacturer all around.

I agree with jeans, Rotas are good wheels for the price. I just ordered a set of 15x8 Slipstreams to use at the track on my Protege. Maybe I could save 1/2 pound per corner with better wheels but budget is more important to me than that tiny difference.
I've got 17x8 RPF1s as my other wheels so I'm not against nice wheels, just different priorities for different situations.

Damn....using the ol' supply and demand against me. hahahaha For $300 I'll have to pass...should have just bought it from Mahk initially. hahaha

True, true

^^^^^^ Phendy said it best, Rays manufacturers the majority of the wheels inclusing ASA Wheels that are licensed by BBS. I can't see paying $2400 for BBS wheels on the street, especially in this area where pot holes reign supreme, just ask Pablo! By what you like and enjoy it, after all it is your money that you are spending.

change of subject ~ but that's what random means anyway, right?

after last weeks crap with my car and all, i was hoping this week would be better, but NO ...

got a $25 parking ticket on my car in the driveway, for "blocking the sidewalk" ... and when you call the "citation processing center" phone number, it's in CA!!! and that's where you mail the ticket and fine too!! newport beach, CA ... so the city of Lakewood is outsourcing ... just great! what exactly are my taxes going towards???

oh, and i also noticed a crack in my windshield, about 4" coming up from the bottom in the middle ... because of the length of it, i need a replacement windshield ... another $200 due to my deductible ... at this point, i'll just wait for it to get worse, if i need to replace it anyway ...

what next???????????????????????????? i just want to crawl into a hole .............

ok, back to previous topic ...

I've recently been considering a set of Slipstreams for the Miata.

ugh. That freaking sucks. I got a parking ticket in Munroe Falls... the car was in front of the house. At least mine was sent to the office 2 miles away. I need a windshield still on the MSM and on the P5... and the Civic. s***.

windshields are over rated.

and i was just joking about the grill... ill discuss more if/when the deal is for sure. im going to try and haggle the price i get for the p5. they better get me a good amount. if they do, i could get a 6i touring for the same amount. lol.

yeah ill be honest, if i hadnt found the OZ's for such a stupidly amazing deal, id be rocking some drags or rotas, heck maybe even my old ICW's again haha

ok, so i just called the Lakewood Police Dept to see if i could park in the street at the end of my driveway, so i'm not in the driveway blocking the sidewalk - and they said i'd get a ticket FOR BLOCKING MY OWN F'ING DRIVEWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i give up

Damn Lauri, that sux to hear....and gotta love the outsourcing to save money....but if they are saving money shouldn't you be getting reduced taxes? Or am I being too logical?

lol...sounds good Rockin, hit me up if you go thru with it, def. interested.

Now that's effed up..... So even if you provide proof that you live there, you still get a ticket?

I thought about buying rota boost's then getting advan center caps off ebay. who would really know the diffference? I got lucky with craigslist though and i saw pictures of a p5 with 35 offset so i should be fine. He rolled his fenders and I pland on doing that.

question about hyperdrive, Do you need to take the center caps out of the wheels? I think I saw somewhere you do for scca auto cross

I park in my driveway blocking the sidewalk all the time

ok, just spent the better part of an hour between talking with my insurance and glass repair - one place Advance Auto Glass said right off the bat the windshield needs replaced ... then Marlon suggested i call Safelite. their policy is if it's under 6" it may be able to be repaired, which i would not pay for vs. the replacement i have to pay due to my deductible. i am going over there at lunch time to see what's up - and hopefully it can be repaired and no money out of my pocket. let's keep fingers crossed. they normally do 'house' calls, but because it's so cold out, it needs to be repaired indoors in a warmer environment. i'll keep you posted ...

ok, back to wheel discussion once again ...

Hopefully it can be repaired. If not, complain to your insurance company to get OEM glass. If they say no, keep hounding them because I didn't get OEM glass and I can tell. Waves all over the place.
