The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Sold 2 cars and bought 1. I am now a member of the 'drives Miata in winter' club.

What did you get rid of?

Why do I have such expensive hobbies? I'm currently saving up for glass and mounts for an AR. Between ammo, gas and regular maintenance, you go broke quick.

Not sure what you're looking for, but I saw an 07 in Erie, PA on autotrader that seemed to be a really good deal.

Thanks but an 07 is probably a bit out of my budget. I've been looking at NAs and early NBs. I have a great oppurtunity to buy a 2011 PRHT at 13K but alas it's too steep for me. :(

Holy crap. Where is that located??

About 100ft from the door to my building. Guy who works for me bought it new and is currently working on buying a 2014 Camaro vert with the RS package. Told me that he would sell it to me for 13K....has approx. 55K miles and rear struts were just replaced a couple of months ago. I believe it's touring trim (no leather) with the appearance package.

That is a better deal, if PRHT is what you're looking for. I found an 07 with 12k miles for 12,9 on autotrader, but that was more than I wanted to spend.

Not looking for a PRHT as they are well out of my budget. He's just offering it to me first as he knows I've been looking and he's hoping I'll cave and he makes that quick sale. lol

That is a really good price. Like, REALLY good.

Hell yes.

Looks like fun

as far as living at home, I lived with my mom until I was engaged at 25 except for a semester away at Ball State. I only moved 10 minutes away though. I didn't have to pay rent and I know people thought I was a slacker since I only worked part-time and went to school when I could pay out of pocket. Of course I bought the MSP and car parts too and that only helped tha slacker notion, but insted of rent my mom had me invest that money. I lived at home with my mom because I was her defacto care taker. After 50ish years of smoking my mom had COPD, and it's nothing like what you see in the comercials and later she had lung cancer. I will say I'm more of the exception than the norm of kids staying at home, but unless you know the situation, you shouldn't call someone out on it.

\edit: not calling anyone out because no one singled anyone out, the general statement was funny. Just saying use caution on an individual bases

as far as marrige, once is enough for me. If I can't make it work with my best friend then I shouldn't be married.

finally, my 3 day weekend was nice and relaxing. Played some GT5 and Kennedy loves watching the "vroom-vroom". Which is great, I can be in the basement playing video games and not get into trouble, Kennedy watches, dances to the soundtrack and plays with her toys and Amber can have some me time.

Hey guys. I've been out of the loop for everything car or racing related for the past few months and just realized that Daytona is this weekend. I think I'll come over since its a 2 hour drive. I didn't look at hotels, but imagine they would be pretty full by now. If I just come for the day would you recommend Saturday or Sunday?

Race starts at 2:00 on Saturday. That's the day I would go if I only picked one.

Not sure on the hotel situation. You could be surprised. But yeah, Saturday would be the day. All the fun stuff happens. Watching the end is impressive too, but I like Saturday better.

Well, unemployment got denied because I'm in school and "can't be considered available to work a normal shift in his/her customary occupation"

That's horseshit, so I filed an appeal on that.

If they deny it, gonna have to put the car up for sale.
