The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Just wondering if I can get everybody's input real quick. My wife next year wants new wheels for her 2013 Dodge Journey. It currently has 16" steelies, I wanna go to a 17 or 18. Just wondering if y'all have suggestions that would fit and reasonably priced. Please post pics and info with suggestions. We looked at tire rack and she didn't see anything she liked there. It's a Copper color.

not sure about offset though

oh man, when I'm renting a house next year and it doesn't have a washer / drier - I'm friggin buying one. No way I'm going outside of the building to do that crap. It's bad enough that I have to go to a different floor now. The amount of $$ I've spent on washing my crap is just insane.

Got the wheels and new tires back. 18x8.5 +45 Konig Milligrams (gold) 245/40/18 Cooper Zeon RS3-S. Very happy with how they turned out.

Damn so I paid 285 when I could wait and get it for 250? Well that blows
I was under the assumption that the $250 was offered to the Ohio Miata Owners group only at first, trying to stir up interest with people who haven't been to a track event with AI yet (and who had tried to plan a strictly miata-only Nelson event but didn't get enough people to pay to rent the track out), and to try to "last-minute" get enough people to make the day worthwhile. I haven't spoke to Jason about it, I wasn't planning on going since I will be going to Gingerman the day before and it's 5 hours away...

Edit: wheels look good Patrick!!

Thank you Brandon and I were talking about trailering both our cars up but then neither of us could swing both Gingerman and Mid Ohio in the same weekend. Come to mid ohio :)

I went earlier this evening and looked at one of my MS3s I posted earlier. http://www.byersauto.com/used/Mazda/2010-Mazda-Mazdaspeed3-a9c791ee0a0a000201b416501cf76420.htm

The good bits are it has the Tech Package, so it's got every option except HIDs I think. Other than some wrinkling on the outer driver side bolster, the interior was really clean. Mechanically it was stock, which was good. Shifter felt tight as did the clutch. It did seem a bit loud at cold idle. Is that normal?

Outside was okay. No door dings and the paint was still in good shape without swirls. However, two of the wheels had some major curb rash and there was a couple of big scratches on the passenger side rear bumper. Also the hood had a surprising amount of rock chips in the hood, but they were touched up. Not sure why the back bumper wasn't touched up as well.

I know it's used, but I wasn't expecting the wheels and scratches for the mileage. Hopefully the black one will be better.

I can lug an old 37" lcd with me, but a project would be ideal, of course.
Maybe we can get Marc to bring his?

I have a 32" LCD in the basement not doing anything. Can definitely use that rather than dragging yours out here.

So many options.

I thought HID's were part of the tech package?

Genpu is louder than the genjuan, stock. Loud exhaust at cold idle is normal. My car wakes up the neighborhood with the mazdaspeed accessory catback in the morning.

For some reason HID's didnt come on all the tech packages in 2010, and they completely missed out on the LED tails too.

My neighbor, David (with the blue genpu at menchies) has a 2010 with tech. Has no auto wipers, no HID, and no LED tails. My 2007 has all those lol.

Could be a deleted resonator.

Good to know. I can add HIDs if I really want them, and I hate auto wipers. I like the keyless access, the Bose, dual zone climate and the navigation.

I was surprised by how loud it was, but it wouldn't bother me if that's how it is. Still quieter than my current car.
