The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

I'll look through the FSM at lunch some more and see if I can figure something out. While the FSMs have so much detail, sometimes there are huge gaps in information. Drives me nuts.
Not to mention inaccuracies. Sometimes I get the feeling some information was lost in translation or copied from previous documents that no longer apply. I've found several discrepancies in my copy. Mostly in the wiring diagrams. I wonder if that's because the '89 was a transition year (from S4 to S5).

That is definately part of it. It drives me nuts how Mazda changes wiring each year on cars.

2004 V6 6 has different wire colors than a 2005 V6 6 with the same packages, let alone, pins change on the engine harness, etc. So annoying.

My factory wiring manual I bought for the 91 miata has the wrong colors listed coming out of the combination switch. And engrish throughout. It's pretty awesome.

I got a call back from a buddy who has had 4 or so FC's, he says nobody uses that tool. You just adjust the MC to your feel preferences. Not that that helps at all, but....

Yeah, this is the last resort. It sucks because to adjust the booster pushrod the MC has to come off. Given my struggles with that thing I REALLY don't want to have to remove it when everything is settled.

I definitely understand that. I don't have any wishes to do my clutch MC again any time soon.
I get to do that once the transmission is back in the car, yay!

Also I just found the difference between the two SST's. Apparently one is for ABS (the first one I mentioned) and the other is for non-ABS. Don't all S5 TII's have ABS? I guess that would explain why the '89 FSM has two different SST's but the '88 only mentions one. I still don't know how I can build vacuum with a MC or similar plug in place but I guess I'll try again when a get home.

FTFY haha

and im giving my dad a place to stay all weekend and letting him help me rehab the kitchen in the new house this weekend... funny thing is he and my mother seem genuinely excited to come see my house and help me work on it haha. ill probably get him a nice cigar and good case of beer, and try to find time to wash and wax his truck (since i borrowed it this week to move)

Maybe they can swing my Columbus since they'll be so close...... ;) ;) ;)

Not sure. My FSM has just the first tool you mentioned, and its for the 91. I don't have ABS, but I don't have a T2 either. Still, that other tool isn't listed.

This week has been going at a snails pace. Booo

Unforunately, it hasn't been for me. I have a lot of stuff I have to finish today (since I won't be at work Thurs or Fri) that is due on Monday. I keep getting bombarded with other tasks. Really getting annoying.

I wish that was the case for me. Itd help cure the boredom lol

that really sucks. could just do the center cartridge or a disco :) or the new gtx disco :O

The problem is not having a job right now, but I want her back on the road. I might have to find a used GT25.

Corey, hit up Alex for a used turbo if you're going to go that route. I'm sure he'll give you a good deal.

If it's around and mine is down I would be willing to give it a try. I have nothing to lose right now.
