The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Well, in good news my pops kindly went and used my moneys to have some tires mounted on my freshly painted rpf1s. michelin pilot super sport in 225/45/17 :D Finally get to test me some SUMMER tires instead of all seasons since my focus will be the winter "beater" from now on :D :D :D

I thought Jackson Center, Ohio was the home of AirStream Campers. At least that's what the Village of Jackson Center claims.

i have a toyota ct 26 if you want it... it needs a rebuild (50 bucks) and it is deffinitely a BT but you could always run lower boost on it.

Chris, all four or just two?

just 2 fer now. Guy at tire rack was concerned because my pops said I have an 02 protege LULZ. He was still concerned after I told him its 03 msp because the stock size is 215 :P Also didn't like my paint job. I didnt do it for him. I did it because literally all of the "tuner" "ricer" kids in my area have freaking black wheels. ITS ABOUT BEING DIFFERENT! :D

You get your tires mounted/balanced at Tire Rack? That's pretty convenient. Why would someone there be concerned? Like they've never heard of someone running wider tires before? Gasp!

because they are probably just like auto parts store sales people, it's not on thier fitment guide so they have to freak out

I like dealing with TireRack but I've found it's just best to call and order. It probably doesn't help that I'm running wheels that are 2" larger, 3" wider, and 18 mm less offset than stock. But yeah, they mounted and balanced the ZII's on my new RPF1's. Convenient.

Leopold in c-falls wouldnt mount my 225/40's to the stock wheels because he swore up and down it wouldnt clear. Tire places are funny these days

Screw Leipolds. They used to be so nice and helpful back in the day.

I got an alignment last weekend and mounted/balanced my RPF1's/Conti's at Conrads in Akron and the guys did a great job once again. It helps to bribe them with a dozen donuts and wear your "I'm with Marlon" t-shirt. But neither Keith or Jarod were there that day. And Apparently Big Lou no longer works there.

Did you really wear the "I'm with Marlon" t-shirt?

I believe the donuts would work, I'm doing that next time I have my car aligned/setup.

I normally drop a case of beer off when i need to have my car aligned, I've found it works better then donuts and they remember the car the next time. Also helps i always schedule my car to be the last one of the day.

Heck yeah. Of course, it looks nothing like him now he lost all that weight. Thanks for ruining my t-shirt, Marlon. Turkey.

JT, apparently I'm doing it all wrong then. I schedule my alignments first thing in the morning. I'll switch to the last appointment and bring beer next time.

You sure that doesn't make them rush through the alignment so they can get to the drinking part? :D Haha.

Tire Rack pretty much told me that there is nothing they could do for me when I was looking for CR-V wheels / tires.
I took my $XXXX elsewhere and got a better deal anyway. Screw em.

I know for sure it does not, I've never had a bad alignment and all the techs want to get the 10ft long 2x10s out to help get my car on the low rack.

But this is 'Murica. Have you ever gotten bad service in Canada? I'm surprised they don't give you beer and donuts during your alignment.

Must have been something pretty hard to find then. They special-ordered a set of black 17x9 RPF1's for me. Even Enkei didn't have that combination listed on their website. My only complaint with them was regarding the hub rings they sent me. They sent me 59.5-73 mm rings instead of 59.6-73 mm rings. That 0.1 mm made all the difference between fitting and not fitting. When I called them back (not the same salesperson I originally dealt with) all they said was that was the size they have listed for my car and they couldn't get the 59.6-73 mm rings. I ended up ordering a set from Discount Tire Direct the same day, which turned out to be a good thing because they are metal versus the plastic crap TireRack sent me.

All I asked at that point was Cragar wheels - no specifics. They were just like - nope, it won't fit, you are the weakest link, goodbye.

FU TR - my V is the shiznit! :D
