The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Does anyone have any recommendations on tire shops around here? I just got a set of Rx-8 wheels freshly powder coated and would like to take them to a reputable shop to mount tires without damaging the wheels. Any suggestions? How about alignment shops?

There is Conrads in Akron on Ellett. Keith store manager, is a frend of mine and has always done right by us...Even Evan #1 likes it there...

I had that happen too on another car too. Jacked up the car after I was doing brakes and found free vice grips. SCORE!

Here's a dumb question from someone who does his own alignments: wtf kind of alignment are they doing that they need vice-grips??

Exactly what I was thinking and a co-worker said! When I get home I'm jacking the car up and removing the tire. Obviously had some rubbing of the tire but sure that it's nothing significant. Only thing I can think of is because I asked them to zero out camber using the camber bolts? But even that seems to be a stretch? Def. a question I'll be asking when I return them later. Got to get the printout out of the files too so I can ask for the tech by name. :)

Hmm, subtle hint your co-workers are tired of your s***, they blockade you in your office...

lulz.

Evan Smokeys is down in (edit) akron by the movie theater on Arlington.

Vice grips?! What in the. Unless he wanted to make absolutely sure as he adjusted the suspension that the bolt wasn't slipping (I assume they are eccentric camber bolts?)

Yea! Rear spoiler. Not bad for shipped and painted for $100. Plus, the body shop guys threw it on for me after work. I might owe them lunch one day.

You shut your ***** mouth, MokeyAss.

Thanks for the info, Jess.

Looks much better, Chris.

Edited. I think technically it's still Akron there. Get off on Arlington and turn right. You know... It might even be Green. Whatever!

You kinda sound like a woman there, Jess... With the bad directions and all...

I'm a horrible navigator, that's why I drive in the gumballs. Lol.

And technically the new shop isn't open yet.

Any speed3 guys looking for an upgraded rear motor mount? I will be upgrading to the version 2 of the CP-e mount and getting the bushing replaced in my current version 1 so that will be for sale. It'll basically be a brand new CP-e version 1 rear mount. Just seeing here before I post it in a couple weeks.

He's alive! The Croatian Sensation!

Jeff, I would take them back. 1, you get to find out why/what they used them on. 2, they weren't cheap. 3, you get to let them know that your tire rubbed on them and may be unsafe now. 4, karma is a b****!
