The Ohio Auto-X and Track Event chat thread

That 71.094 lap of Tessa's was me driving. I think there was an issue with the timing. haha

Yeah, but totally wasn't necessary. I just wanted to show Tessa how much further she could push the little Mini into braking and the slalom. It was funny because she said "Woah, okay." which I thought "Woah, okay. Slow down.". So I let off and was just coasting to show her the lines. Then she yelled "Why are you slowing down? Go, go!". Apparently she meant "Ohhh, okay, now I see.". haha. Still fun regardless. I gotta get her a rear sway bar though, tons of understeer.

They did not record my last 6 runs, how the hell did that happen? They need more experienced people to list the times.

Didn't you switch cars since that bolt backed out of the turbo on Spicy? Did you transfer the Spicy numbers to the MS3?

I believe you just added the 1 to Lauri's number, don't know if you covered the L. Either way, if they entered 127 SMFL in the laptop it wouldn't have come up with a name. If you did cover the L, then most likely they didn't see that. Does spicy have 127 SMF?

I don't know who was helping Pete, but the computer was all kinds of messed up and he was trying to figure it out at the same time. He's not a computer person, so I don't know what he did.

I know this is the autocross chat thread but I don't think most people in the random thread will care...

Anyways my Dad and I are in the process of making plans to go to Barber Motorsports Park on December 14-15.

If anyone is interested: http://clubregistration.net/driver/event_sign_up.cfm?event_id=4488
$425 for 2 days with Alabama Region PCA (Porsche Club of America).

Average high for Birmingham, AL that time of year is 56 degrees. There is a Hampton Inn right outside the track for < $90 a night. According to Google maps it is roughly a 10 hour drive from N-Ohio.

I don't have that kind of money trying to pay back Nate and all, but thanks for the invite.

Putting this out there for you guys. Costco has the Go-Pro Hero 3 Silver Edition for $299.99.....

Also, Best Buy has the Go Pro Hero 3 Black Edition for $249...
Camera only and the Costco deal is a bundle deal.

Has anyone used the DW's for autox? I want a double duty tire for my everyday wheels. I hate lugging the slicks to autox and would prefer to just save them for track days. I am between the DW's and the Rivals.
DW: price, mileage
Rivals: performance

I already gave you my thoughts on the subject. :D

But I believe both Pablo and Phen have used them for autocross right? I dunno, a bunch of people around here run the DWs.

Yea I know but I was hoping to get some other points of view. No offense or anything. I'm kinda scared to have the rivals in the rain too. Power and rain don't exactly like to mix

I did, get the DWs. They won't have the performance of the Rivals but they'll last longer and they're very good in the rain. You won't set records at autox, but its a decent tire.

Mine were fine after 1 season with NORA, your car is heavier but they'll be fine. You're a broke college student, stick with the ones that'll last longer.

I've been running the Conti Sport Contact 2 (on the gold RPF1s) which were the predecessors to the DW's and I thought I would burn them up quickly but they lasted a really long time, and also great in the rain. I've got a set of DW's I'll run in the 2014 season.
