The Ohio Auto-X and Track Event chat thread

Was it me or did it seem like there wasn't many course workers for the 2nd session? Regardless, pretty awesome you guys got 8 runs.

Oh, and Dave and I went to PittRace saturday for their SCCA piggy back event and that place was really nice. They auto-x on the skid pad so it's prefectly smooth. Steel Cities SCCA does a great job and very organized, friendly and helpful. We both had a good time. The $6.75 toll cost and 1.5 hour drive will probably sway a lot of people away but I will go there more often next season. :)

I'm up for it. I like smooth surface to run on. That 360 yesterday was funny because the car bounced so much, and the tires would only make noise on the painted lines.

I would love to go to other places. I want to do a lot more track days next year but I will still do autox here and there in between track days. The turbo I got isn't exactly the best for autox but it will still work just gotta keep those rpm's up :D

Buy a Miata for auto-x. BOOM, done. Run in a stock class.

I only need two cars lol no more fun cars. My wallet already hates me lol. Phen how is your civic in the snow? I'm sketched about small cars in the winter. And that all of them are beat on their whole lives

Theres a Focus SVT for not much money. Its a 5 door, 170hp, 145ft.lb in a 2800lb car. Not really that quick but decently fun to drive, decent in the snow & cheap.

What kind of money are you looking to spend Patrick?

I've driven my Civic in about 9 winters and it's always seemed to do well, even with all seasons. It doesn't have a lot of torque to get you into trouble with. That helps. Throw some snow tires on it, instant tank. My ex had a 2000 Civic and we threw some Wintermasters on it. Unstoppable.

I'm thinking about going to OVR next weekend to test the RX-7 out anyone else want to head down.

Awesome makes me feel better

The only time I ever had an issue was while I was in college. I was coming down from the roof of the parking deck. They did a s*** job salting / plowing. Right side wheels hit ice and left side was on wet concrete. Car rotated on me and I did a slow slide and tapped a support beam. Dented the rear quarter. That was a bit of negligence on their part and inexperience on my part to get out of it. Last winter, my all seasons were down to 3/32" and was never stuck.

I had to google it, it's about 2 hours south near C-bus.

I would go but the Mad Scientist (Jake) and I are planning on swapping my motor this weekend.
