I will be using this thread for any questions/issues that arise with my LT10s.
Here's my first issue...
My install is now completed and my car is back on the road but my battery light on the instrument panel stays illuminated (as does the CEL but I expected that). Anyone got any ideas what may be causing this?

You wired it incorrectly. Your battery will die unless you allow the stock ecu to turn on the alternator.

not necessarily.

you need to put a 1.5k resistor between the old air intake temp wires (since the MT takes the sensor). light = gone.

Thanks for the info...:)

beat me to it :)

That's why I said he wired it incorrectly and the battery WILL die. The stocker wasn't seeing the necessary inputs. :)
I just didn't know which wire was missing because he didn't state it...

Data Logging

I tried data logging for the first time today. It only recorded for approximately 90 seconds and then it stopped. Is there a way of changing the length of time it will run?

As far as I know, it's hard-coded into the software, and will only record something like 500 data points and then stop.

Have you had your battery die from this? I have not - I drove the car for a couple weeks with the battery light on. Having the broken loop on the air temp. sensor is what caused the battery light, and I only wired in the resistor because it was annoying ... but it wasn't a necessary fix.

On-ECU logging, or laptop logging?

i know the onboard ECU logging (if you paid for the option) only lasts a very short time...but I was sure you could log almost infinate data directly from the laptop?

Two dead batteries and swapped out the alternator. The 2nd alternator was used and I thought it was bad too. Once Turfburn pointed out that I needed to share the coolant and air temp sensors with the stock computer the batt light turned off and the battery charged up. The stock ecu needs to see a voltage input to turn on the alternator. My battery lasted about 2 weeks (just guessing) before it died.

Battery is fine. I'll do the resistor thing to get rid of the light.

The Data Logger screen, not the ECU Logger.

My battery light has been on since I installed the Microtech, I guess I'll try that resistor trick...thanks!

And yeah, datalogging is capped at 500 units on the laptop, mine doesn't have ECU loggin so I don't know about that.

my battery light is on as well, but my battery hasn't died after 2 months w/ the microtech installed. i did the resister as instructed in the instructions but it still lights up. it doesn't really bother me, but will it mess anything up?

i'm using a brail battery, the car is showing 13.3volts when the car is running? could it be the battery is jus low? it used to show 14.5v.

Re: Fuel Mileage...

I posted this in the FI section and then thought it might be more appropriate here...

I am curious what others that are now turbo'd are experiencing for fuel mileage. I have been getting noticeably poorer mileage since the rebuild and installation of the Microtech. My last tank worked out to 14.5 litres/100 km or 19.5 miles/gallon (imp) or 16.2 miles/gallon (US) combined city/highway.
Does this sound normal?

That sounds horrible!!! Unless you are driving under mad boost all the time, you shouldn't get much different results once you dial in the fuel ... maybe you're running rich at cruising conditions??

My mileage didn't change until I swapped injectors but even after that I still get mid 20's, you just need to do some tuning. That mileage is SUV range hehe.

O2 Sensors

Please excuse my ignorance but are both OEM O2 sensors still required with the MT? As best as I can tell, only one is being used according to the wiring diagram...?

If both are left installed, the ECU will TRY and utilize them, but may not be able to understand what's going on since it's no longer in control. No stock O2 is required with the microtech, and are non-value added (unless you're working toward turning off the CEL) ... what is a must is having your own wideband so that you know what's going on. Even if the stock O2 sensors are sending good data to the stock ECU, it can't do anything to correct in the event that you're not running appropriate fuel.
