The Evap Emision Control System Leak/no Flow Condition

Is That The "gas Cap Code " People Get And Does It Have To Be Reset Or Will It Jsut Go Away!

I think I just went through a spate of "Gas Cap Codes" in my MS3. They would come and go, so yours is likely to go away too.

its been on a few days but i havnt went far! its been like 50 miles but ik ten trips so idk

Hmm... I wasn't watching very closely, but for me the light would come on and be gone within a day or 2. Then later that day or the next it would come back on.

It stayed on even after I fixed my cap. And even came on briefly after filling my tank (for 3 miles or so).

I'm no mechanic, but I'd recommend you make an appointment to have it checked out, and if the issue resolves itself before the appointment than just cancel it.

My gas cap was off from the dealer (way to go gas filler-upper-guy) and I discovered it on the second day when I got a "gross evap leak" code. I filled the tank and put it back on and it didn't clear. They recommended driving it for about 50 miles. I drove about 200 and it didn't clear. I had to go back to the dealer to get the MS CAI installed and they cleared it. Hasn't come back on since.

Sooooooooooooooo . . . if you know it was the gas cap (evap code was what made it to me), I'd say clear the computer on your own. VIA disconnecting the battery or with some sort of plug in reader. And it should stay off. Or if you're under warranty, have the dealer clear it.
