Trailblazer SS AWD ....Still a Mazda Junkie Though.
This used to be where threads were put once they got out of control...Once it was there..it was free game for a while.

This gave us a place to play, vent and just be the way we shouldn't be anywhere else on the forum.
That was its purpose when started long, long ago.

Now..The new mods Dump these so called "Trouble" threads and immediately lock them. Most of which are nowhere even close to needing to be dumped or even locked.

We cant even have a fairly Heated but pretty civil arguement anymore without getting warned, infracted or the thread getting dumped. The new mods here just don't get it.

Explain to me WTH the point of the Dumpster is any longer besides wasted space?

Why not just Delete the thread all together..There is no need to leave it here locked until the dumpster is emptied..It's pointless.

No...That was never the intention but obviously some of you took it upon yourself imagine it was...It's a wonderful forum where you can actually SEE what happens to CRAP when it's posted on Mazda Forums.

It's not supposed to be a pleasant feeling to have your thread "DUMPED" but that's the point...It's basically the trash bin for useless & worthless threads. If you create or contribute to BS threads, your thread or posts will be considered garbage...Then everyone can see what happens to such threads in this community.

The reason that some of the Dumpster threads are closed is because they are beyond any tolerable level of BS and must be shutdown to prevent any further drama on the forums...yet they can still be used as an example of what NOT TO DO on Mazda Forums....Often times the last post will be an important warning from a Moderator or Admin.

It's one of the best "tools" we have here to contain and minimize BS threads and troll like behavior.

Well..it was created at the same time as Purg..or close to it...I say we get a subforum for strictly almost anything goes...a discussion on any topic forum where we can discuss our most heated and passionate subjects.

You still dont make sense of why not just delete them immediately...After they hit the dumpster and are locked..they are doing nothing but wasting space.

My point was mainly..as of late...It seems a lot of threads make it there far before they should.
Mods are locking perfectly (pretty much) good threads where any "discussion" is going on.I mean c'mon..do we not have the right to at least debate here..Especially if someone is wrong and spreading wrong information?

'Heated' arguments don't get put in the dumpster. Threads get put in there when people start throwing around insults and attacking each other.

But, if Controversial Subject XYZ was argued six times on this forum in the past, and each of those six times has degraded into monkeys slinging feces at one another, the next 'heated argument' concerning Controversial Subject XYZ that comes up will probably be dumpstered proactively to stop the inevitable. This is why sometimes threads may end up there before you personally think they should.

The mods are here to keep a handle on threads that have turned sour, and also to prevent them from turning sour in the first place. The dumpster is just one of several tools that mods have to fulfill this part of their duties.
