"The Clunk" advice

I'm going to my dealer to have them check out the clunk on my msp with 2200 miles on it. Is there anything I should tell them or show them so they don't try and shaft me?

There is a TSB out on it.

and print it out, bring it in and show them. They should be able to take it from there. Good Luck.

Unfortunately, it won't really matter what you tell them. Their current "fix" is too replace and/or grease the bushings. The clunk will be back...

I have my clunk, and have had it for over 1000 miles. I will be taking it, when i get around to it, to OrangeAppeal's dealer in rhode island for service. When I do so, I hope to go in with him and his clunk (which im sure he will have if he doesnt alreayd) and a "presentation" similar to that of newf's

This way we can (hopefuly) skip over some of the steps everyone else has had to go through...
1. dealer denial
2. dealer "fix" with new bushings
3. dealer denial
4. dealer fix with new bushings and grease
5. dealer claiming only my car has the problem
etc etc etc....

and maybe if this dealer in RI is as terrific as jesse says they are they will want to satisfy their 2 customers with broken cars and will escalate this to a district level sooner....

The denial also includes "do not believe what you read on the Internet." It is tough to blame my dealer because on two occasions I have gone to see them the roads have been bone dry and the temps lifted up just eough to make sure there was no clunk!

Well I just got back from the dealer and the tech was pretty cool..he talked to the guys at Mazda for awhile and said they didnt have a permanent fix yet, (duh)..so he's gonna order me new bushings...I guess thats better than what the service manager was originally trying to tell me..which was that it was an 'inherant' noise due to the upgraded suspension on the MSP.
So I dunno, guess we'll have to see what happens...

too. I've have it for awhile now & just like you haven't got around
to taking it in. So why are you not taking it to modern?
