temperature display

I am driving a Mazda3 1.6L 2005 model. The temperature display is not showing (I bought it as a second hand). A couple of days back it displayed AMB with three dashes (---) but the it has since blacked out again. Can you please assist me, is there a way i can do to display the temperature gauges?

You may have a damaged ambient temp. sensor, or it's too cold out. I suggest taking it into the dealer to make sure.
