TB Performance Chassis braces

I have read some very positive reviews of the TB Performance chassis braces for the Fiesta. I know some Fiesta people have used the Corksport torsion bar, so it got me wondering if I would be able to use the TB chassis braces on my 2. After a couple emails and some under-car measuring, as I had hoped for, they will be a perfect fit!

Danny seems like a great guy, and is really enthusiastic about being able to offer braces for the 2. TB Performance offers a lot of braces for Mazdas, and looks to be a solid supporter of the Mazdaspeed3. And I think they advertise on this forum. So, why the heck not support them?! The prices are awesome, too!

Anyway, I'm really excited to feel how my car changes with these braces. I'll update once they arrive, and have been installed.

Thanks for doing the leg work . Which bar did you go with ? The front member brace looks well designed with 4 points of contact rather than the straight bar used by others . Looking forward to hearing how this impacts driving feel .

Pics of the braces can be found on the TB Perfomance website (tbperformanceproducts.com). I wasn't able to figure out how to put them in the thread.

I'll post up some pics of mine when they come in, and hopefully after install.

I decided to go full kit, and get the stage 2.
You and me both. I talked with Danny at TB and may have gotten a pretty decent deal on all 3 braces and will have a few pics and thoughts once they come in and are installed. Plus I've got a Fiesta front sway bar that should be here next week I'm going to try and fit to the 2.

Awesome!!

Looks good. The front brace makes more sense than the dogbone for the mid point. I think an X brace would do better than an H but I don't know anything about it. :)

Def interested in hearing the reviews on these, def been considering getting some from Ultra Racing but these seem to be nicely priced. How's the quality on initial review?

thats a good price for the 2 upper pieces together( i already have the corksport torsion) so ima prolly order these next paycheck.

I can't wait to hear more about your impressions of the front section, especially. I've been debating whether to go with the front section piece (since I saw the thread on FFaction), or with the CS front sway bar...

Hhhmmm,TBPerformance claims that the front chassis brace reduces body roll........ I'd love to hear an explanation of how that works. Is the M2 chaqssis that floppy?

John

Exactly what I was wondering John -- and compared to a '90 Miata I had I have to say no on the floppy chassis -- this car seems quite nice chassis wise to me.

Also -- that rear brace goes onto 4 10mm studs -- how much stiffening can be done on those tiny studs without shearing them right off?

well i would say they prolly saying that as marketing. most people wont look into the chassis of the 2 and will go by word of the supplier.

I don't believe chassis bracing could have any noticeable effect on body roll until the suspension was insanely stiff, or if the vehicle was structurally a limp noodle. On a car like ours I'd think its main purpose would be ballast unless the suspension was thoroughly worked....and even then questionable at best.

On the other hand, if I were building a stage rally or rally-x car I'd think it might be worthwhile. Mainly because of the abuse those cars take.

Those were exactly my thoughts as well... I'm curious to hear from a 2 owner with one of the TB braces installed because over on FiestaFaction, two Fiesta owners running stock springs and shocks report substantial body roll reduction with the front brace installed (and no upgraded front bar from what I can tell). It could be fiction, but I'm definitely interested if it's true! By the way Eyeballs, did you order a front sway yet?

ill order the first set soon. i do know with the CS tower brace and torsion bar there is veryyyy little roll or understeer and the car handles like a go cart. i cant imagine how much better these will make it but well see.
