tattoos

Lol...I got my earing...also in the LEFT ear when I was about 12 years old...so that's about 16 years ago...yikes scary! Anyhoo, I don't think that left/right thing holds true anymore(it definitely meant something when I got it if you got just the right done)....as you see lots of guys with earrings in both ears now.

very true...you do....my son wants his done...but he can't ware one at school....its against the rules....he is 11....wants to be like dad! lol

Wow really it's against the rules?? That seems like a pretty strict thing....it's not like he's wearing gang colours or something!

I used to be an elementary school art instructor... earings were definately not allowed for boys, which I think is sexual discrimination.

I've been wanting a detailed Olivia painting transferred to my back for sometime...I even found a guy to do it who was extremely talented at exacting realism, but I keep chickening out...

Don't go if you're not absolutely sure!!! Removal is a teedious and painful process. You have to go for ten sessions, and each one hurts as much as the tattoo did in the first place. They literally trace it with a laser beam! OUCH!!! I've never had any removed myself, but my friend did. She had her last name done in Thai on her back, but she wrote it down for the guy by memory... Well, her memory didn't serve her right, so when her grandmother tried to read it, she told her it didn't say anything close to their last name! Talk about a big mistake.

actually blue...that is what they associate it with....since they are VERY strict about what they can wear....the next thing the gangs would be doing is sporting some sort of special earring....so its easier for them to just say NO to all of them...and yes dragonfly...it is descrimination.

My brother stabbed me with a pencil when we were younger...about 27 years ago....now that's scary!

Does that count as a tatoo??? It's still in there.

I dont think that, that counts as a tatoo, more like a battle wound!! I'm sure we all have those from our siblings from the past!!! did everyone see mine??? I went into the shop today, and was tempted to get another tatoo or piercing... hmmm what could I do next? I need some ideas...

I think you should stop... I wouldn't get any of my tattoos removed since I made those decisions and will stick with them. However, if I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't have gotten any. My angel is pretty large - about 6 inches tall - though it doesn't look that big in the picture. I'm only 22, but I already feel like I've outgrown my tattoos, not because of what they are (I love them) but just cause it isn't that feminine. You can't see any of them when I wear an evening gown or a summer dress , but still...

Just my advice from one girl to another. As for the piercings... at least they close when you don't want them anymore, but OUCH!

The tattoos I see as being the craziest are the ones that some people have right out there on their necks or heads....I mean it's kinda work in a place of serious business with a big tattoo on your head...and what happens when you're like 65 years old or something??

It's funny, I had removed my earring for about the last 4 months...just something to do and this thread inspired me to put it back in yesterday. 2 people actually noticed and asked if I always had an earring....I guess that means there are a lot of unobservant(is that a word?) people who didn't notice.

When I was in Louisiana visiting, there was some friend of a friend of a friend that had MURDER tattooed on his forehead. How's that for crazy.
