Man that sucks...

Dealership where I bought my car had a serious fire a little over a week ago, apparently a total loss, they will have to rebuild completely according to first reports. 4 cars were dammaged in the show room (including a 6 from the newspaper photo).

It's not that I care or something, it's just that I'll have to drive hafl an hour more to get service for my car. It's freezing around here (-11F, -40 with windchill), can't work on the car myself until spring. Man I despise the winter we're having this year, and to think some of you out there are wearing shorts and T's...

I just needed to talk that's all...

boy, sucks to be you! the CLOSEST mazda dealer from me is 45 minutes away, with the next closest over an hour away.

My life doesn't suck my friend, but when gasoline costs $3.36 per US gallon, driving an hour to get the car fixed ON warranty does make me not such a happy camper.

And if you do a search, you'll see that my P5 has a major fuel mileage problem, best was 27.8mpg (US gallon) last September. I'm still trying to have Mazda take a look at this situation. gaZOOM-ZOOM agrees with me and he's trying to help me. And remember, it's freezing cold out here in Quebec, fuel mileage goes way down in the winter.

But hey, I did not buy the P5 for fuel economy, I bought it for fun and I'm still very happy about this car.

Yeah, I saw the news about that...sorry for you :o

Isnt the P5 rated at 30? The 27 is pretty close..... that sounds fine to me.

i think you all need to take chill pills. i was only stating my situation, not trying to say you don't have it hard. yes, fuel is getting expensive. however, i get an average of 30mpg in my protege. maybe you should lay off the go pedal so much.

im gettin 10L /100kms average in newfoundland inthe winter a litte better in the summer . price of gas here right now is 86.9 per liter but its suppiose to go up again next week.and my nearest dealer is 2hours away. 220 kms to be exact so i have my oil changes done by a local garage

We're still at 88.9c/L in the Montreal region, and I too am getting close to 10L/100km. I drive 30000km a year, it cost me $1600 in fuel alone last year...

Mazda answered that the 2004 model will have a Honda-like fuel injection system.

My daily commute is 114km (to and from), I shift at around 3500RPM, I drive at an average speed of 105km/h (65.3mph) and most of the commute is on the highway. My Civic was good for 43mpg (imperial), there is NO reason (I drive my P5 the same way I drove my Civic) why I can't get AT LEAST 38mpg (imperial). THIS is why I'm complaining.

Imperial gallon : 4.55L
US gallon : 3.785L

I've been on this forum for some time now and most people have a similar mileage, very close to mine, so it's the car. SirNuke gets something like 38mpg, that's why I keep bringing up the subject.

I was in Englewood FL last May, and it was GREAT...

I just want to tell everyone I just needed to let off some steam, that's all.

Thanks for your comments. Now back to my frigin' cold weather (-40F with the windchill this morning, again)
