Survey on AWR A/T motor mounts

I have seen different threads on the forum where people are sayin that the AWR A/T mounts are supposedly softer and more streetable for daily driving. Im about to buy a set, but first i was lookin for some feedback from people that have the A/T mounts and whether or not they are better than the M/T mounts.

They certainly are better than the M/T mounts (I've never tried the M/T mounts, but believe me, they're basically like solid mounts). The A/T mounts are PLENTY hard for my taste -- my biggest complaint is the the bushing itself is very small. Personally my recommendation is to not bother with them unless you go to the drag strip quite often. I'm 'probably' going to take my mounts out and go back to stock eventually....just too much vibration and NOISE from the engine. It sounds like there's a hole in my exhaust now.

Edit - please note that these are my experiences after only 1 week with the mounts in....so maybe they'll improve.....

i only got the front one M/T and it works just fine for street driving, just a little bit vibration at idle , but the car feels just so much more solid, it's worth it IMO

this is the same as I am running right now, but I wont for long.

I am worried about all the extra vibration being transfered to the non replaced stock rear bushing that it will rip it up after awhile. I have both the manual and automatic rear bushings, and i think im gonna go with the automatic in the rear.

i'd wanna see if the vibration is not too bad with that setup, and i might go for it as well

From others experience, if you are adding significant power to your car and you have front mount, your rear mount will eventually tear.

I have both M/T mounts right now, and they got better with time, but I am going to swap the rear mount M/T bushings for a pair of A/T bushings when I get a chance.

I replaced my M/T mounts with the A/T bushings. The A/T is plenty stiff and gives you all the benefits without loosening up your fillings. They are a winner in my opinion.

The MT mounts do *not* shake my car that bad at all... I'm kinda wonderin if I have the AT mounts..

Yup. I mean, if I make the car idle at around 1000rpm with the A/C on or if I'm in reverse and the RPMs drop down pretty low then yeah, I get a back massage but it's not like my car is going to fall apart. Not nearly as bad as some people here make it out to be but then again, I'm not expecting a luxurious ride. I dunno..

I second what T3ase said. I don't think they are as bad as everyone makes them seem.(And again, I am not expecting a luxury car either, I have had a daily driver mustang with solid mounts also) I think they are the best mod I did to my car for drivability. I've had F&R MT, MT front/AT rear, and F&R AT. It's also really easy to keep the vibration to a minimum by the way you launch.

Can you live with the M/T mounts. Absolutely, and they get better over time, but they were quite annoying at 1000 - 1500 rpm (mine were bad at 1500) which meant they idled fine, but they just annoyed me based upon some of the other stuff I had done and how the car responded with them. To each their own. I drove with the M/T for months, and yes, they started to bother me less and less, but when someone new was in my car, they were like :wtf: is up with the vibration. Can't have someone looking down on my baby.

The A/T is definatly more streetable than the manual for the rear. At first they are going to be stiff as hell. But hang in there as they soften up over a couple of weeks. One of the best mods I've done! (thumb)

Why the hell don't you just call Tony at AWR. He makes them himself..

Ummmm.. He Might Know?
