Surging issues

Sure. Do you have a Dashhawk? Set it to display the #2 oxygen sensor, warm up the engine, rev to 6000rpm or so and downshift. You should see the reading jump as you take in the clutch and the rmps drop.

Fun, but very unlikely to be the cause of the surging :(
So what can it be??? I just got my turbo timer in the mail today and i should get my motor mount tomorrow so i dont wanna install this stuff tell my car runs....

Sorry, but I haven't the foggiest :( Since the first dealer won't / can't fix it, try taking it to a different Mazda shop. Sort of like a second opinion.

Is it at least easily reproducible? any CELs? Ever?

For me it is very reproducible...just apply even throttle at around 2500rpms in 3rd and 4th gears. No CELs. On the other forum a few peeps have been saying that they had their fuel pumps replaced and that solved the problem...and then for others it didnt. I have no clue...but when I finally get to the dealer for my Clutch TSB I'm going to confront them about it since they said changing the O2 sensors would fix it and it didnt. By the way...the clutch parts are on backorder...and there is only one Mazdaspeed dealer near me (notcool)

Mine is easy to... just dump the clutch in third and put the gas to the floor. Everytime! Its sorry! But im gonna go to the dealer today probably. Im tired of messing with it.. Ill ask them about the fuel pump. Is it in the tank?

good luck let us know how you did!
Well they set up an appointment for thursday at 8 so ill let everyone know. There trying to give me a rental car and send me on my way. I told them no that i wanted to talk with the mechanic so hopefully if i get loud enough they will fix this piece of crap!

ya i have the problem, no i have not go to the dealer since my car is not stock, i will prefer to go to the dealer as a last resource! i cleaned the maf and no change problally is the fuel pump i dont know! this i swhat i hate about this! no knowing what the problem is!

I've got similar issues on my MS3 - before and after CAI installation.

Intermittent, but annoying. After one or two of you MS6 guys has it addressed, perhaps I'll bother my service dept.

It sucks, but it also sucks that it only happens sometimes..

3rd & 4th gear, for me..

Ya its 3rd for me... Rarely 4th but it does happen every once in a while. But i told them i think its the fuel pump and he said they would check it out.. Ill make sure!

Well, after arguing with this guy about the car I drive EVERYDAY about what is wrong with it I finally got them to put it on a lift. Then I told them I wanted to watch when he got it on the lift and the mechanic said cool but this dumb ass said oh please wait in side.. so I said ok and stood right where I was then he walked off. So anyways take a wild guess what it PROBABLY is... All 3 of my motor mounts are ****** up! They look like someone purposly tore them apart and then installed them. So i guess i drive it to hard.. Lol. So they are gonna install all 3 on tuesday and my AWR that I just bought ill install if that fixes the problem. BUt it does make sense to be that.. cause i said it feels like its letting off the gas and pushing it again... motor rocking back and forth could do that... Well, climb under yours and check it guys. Or go to mazda... But just to make sure you know, i am not completely stupid (haha) it did feel like a fuel problem or vacuum leak or something. NOT a motor mount....

so mike if you are running a 12 second 1/4 then it damn sure could be your problem... if your having the same issues as I am.

yea prob thats the problem, my SU motor mount was torn apart runing the 12s now i put the stock one! who i will check for that if that is the problem ill love for finding out!! LOL is so anoiyng that surging!

I REALLY REALLY doubt your motor mounts have held up if your car is running that much power! Mine has been only stock and with the Fujita CAI. So I am willing to bet that even if its not the problem I bet there beat up anyways. Look close, we almost didnt see the big split in the front left one. Do you know of any one who makes the upgraded front left and the right side mounts?
