Surging issues

You should probably leave it alone. I'm sure the touchy cpu on the speed 6 might account for that air already. But I'm not sure, what does everyone else think?

you should be fine with a little filter on each end. thats what i've seen a lot of people do there. not sure if it will help the surging or not, but might be worth a shot.

Well the clutch is done and wow is it cool! Anyway about the surging...the tech suggested that it might be a throttlebody issue, but to schedule an appointment and he'll really work it over....he then proceded to tell me that the tech who had previously done all the work on my car had been fired due to incomptence....lol makes me feel great! It couldnt be a CAI issue because my intake is bone stock...

I'm Chevy Chase...and you're not

I didnt wanna hear that! Lol... but keep us posted if u find out anything

this has been talked about over and over, there's oil in the throttlebody and uh, somewhere else, that's SERIOUSLY not supposed to be there, but when a tech calls, mazda tells them it's "normal" .....though it seems to me that mazda is just saying that to avoid a massive recall on 10,000 engines.

i checked and there is no oil on the throttle body what so ever! i have stated that!!!!!
koenig read the thread(wink)LOL

A lot of people have had it in the throttle body and in another spot.... I forgot what it was, but have you checked the other spot? Just to be safe you know.... rule out all options.... what does the surging feel like?

I can't relate since my car is fine, does it feel like when you jump on the gas the car bogs down before jumping forward?

This is a dumb question im sure but where the heck do i look for this oil? Do i have to take something apart or can u just see it?? Ill look to see if i have it...

gotta take it apart, it's the throttle body (that's part of the engine buddah!!)

and the uh, god I can't remember the other part, think it begins with a C? someone else help me out here.... (mswerd)

^ happy 900 posts!!!! well anyways yea surging feals like the motor dies for an instant and then goes back again! its weird were should i check for oil?

you know I had that problem with my old SUV (my first car) after about 3 years it came to the point where if I got on the throttle (like mashed it down hard to the floor) the car would act as if it was going to leap forward, then it would bog down and go slow, and slowly build up speed....

It ended up being my fuel pump and a busted O-Ring causing an oil leak....

AWD do you still have your car under warranty? Mike doesn't but if you do you can go and have them check your fuel pump and MAF to be sure.

as for where to check the oil it's supposed to be the throttle body and I think the charge pipe? (not sure if that's probably wrong), can't seem to find the thread on mazda6 club either....

Maybe have mazda check your cylinders for misfiring? or your coils?

Hell just to rule it out, go out and check your spark plugs as well......... :D

Well, i have been told by numerous people that the fuel pump either works or it doesnt. Is that true? But yes it is warranty. But those ass holes dont know s*** about the speed 6!

Yes that's correct...when I found oil it was in the Throttlebody and in the charge piping...mazda is still telling me that its "normal" but I agree that they are just protecting their asses.

I checked my sparkplugs and they are fine...so...fuel pump, coil packs, or the massive ammounts of oil getting past the turbo seales are the only options left
