Surging issues

Ok guys I noticed something.... Ok so you know how you have to push the gear shifter down to put it in reverse? Well, i noticed that when my car does that funny s*** is when I am shifting hard and it always happens to be 3rd because the car is like a damn 18 wheeler so its a long ways away! So i end up pushing down on the shifter..... I have noticed that it DOES do it when i push it down and let it off. You will hear the shifter pop up when i let go. I also noticed that it DOES NOT do it when i push it up without going down. Does anyone do this also?? Maybe there is something to do with this?? Maybe it just coinsidence but im telling u it is gauranteed everytime i push down..... Input??

Yes that's correct...when I found oil it was in the Throttlebody and in the charge piping...mazda is still telling me that its "normal" but I agree that they are just protecting their asses.

I checked my sparkplugs and they are fine...so...fuel pump, coil packs, or the massive ammounts of oil getting past the turbo seales are the only options left

if you have a friend or know a cheap independent 3rd party shop you can trust have them run the test on the fuel pump, not mazda ;)

you shouldn't be pushing DOWN on the shifter at all.... pushing down is only to bypass the blocker plate to put the car in reverse.... if you're pushing down you might be doing bad things without knowing.... but seriously you shouldn't be pushing down when shifting gears driving.

Good job man! (2thumbs) I know u shouldnt push it down. But when i drive and shifting to third it sometimes does it.

you might be pushing too hard then, you don't really need to SLAM the shifter into 3rd, i can shift light and fast, I just almost BARELY engage the clutch throw it into 3rd softly and disengage the clutch in.... maybe (pure speculation, but is is fast)) .5 seconds or less (burnout)

let us know....

so as long as you don't push DOWN on the shifter you don't get any surging problems?

I dont think so... Lol. I mean sometimes it will do it but im thinking that maybe I barely pushed it down or something. I try to not push it down but it goes down really easy so im wondering if something inside is broke or maybe i just need to calm the hell down!

I dunno man, mine doesn't push down THAT easy.... or else I'd push it down while shifting..... know anyone around you with an MS6?

or try going to your local mazda dealer and see if they have any speed6s on the lot and sit inside it, see if it pushes down as easy or stiffer than yours..... maybe even a speed3, it's practically the same engine and transmission part.

oil in the charge pipe? you said there was none in the throttle body, right?
