Stuff like that can cause surging with cars........ especially when you run it low on the tank. Try checking your uh....... fuel injectors, have them looked at and see if they are dirty/clogged.... (drunk)
So its the same as a BOV then right? Does the 6 have both??LBV said:Here's a copy & paste from howstuffworks.com:
"Most automotive turbochargers have a wastegate, which allows the use of a smaller turbocharger to reduce lag while preventing it from spinning too quickly at high engine speeds. The wastegate is a valve that allows the exhaust to bypass the turbine blades. The wastegate senses the boost pressure. If the pressure gets too high, it could be an indicator that the turbine is spinning too quickly, so the wastegate bypasses some of the exhaust around the turbine blades, allowing the blades to slow down."
I actually thought that could have been it from when i installed the CAI i was thinking maybe it got dirty.... but after cleaning it, nothing changed for better or worse.trees said:I had some surging issues myself, even hitting fuel cut if i got on it a little on a stock car. I found my MAF was a little dirty so after I cleaned it the surging went away along with the fuel cut. Try your MAF!
So is that something we can check??cansp6 said:A BOV is part of the intake system and will reduce the air coming into the engine and turbo. While the wastegate is part of the exhaust system and is inside the turbo. It releases extra exhaust gasses into the downpipe.
Yes, we have both![]()
