Sure is dead in the Ga forum

Yeah, sorry about that. I moved back to VA! ;-)

We're still here...but like Shae said - life intervenes. We're trying to do a 2nd Wednesday of the month meet at the Olde Blind Dog Pub, but last month we cancelled it because only THREE people (including my hubby and myself) were going to show up. I know I have had frustration in trying to set up meets because that's what folks say they want, but then they bail at the last minute or don't even respond to the posts. (shrug) I'm considering just cancelling the meet, as there is little-to-no-participation.

It's just frustrating to me because folks (not you Shae) clamor for a meet and fuss and b**** that we don't meet, but then you set something up and the response is dismal.

I don't really know how everyone's schedules are, but maybe it might be easier to set something up on a weekend or something.

I've already got plans for Friday night (I think) but other than that I'm pretty sure I don't have anything going on during the weekend.

Yup... Life Happened....

I'll put my vote in for a Friday or Saturday meet, think more of us could swing that. It's hard to meet on a weekday with work and all.

Not to sound like the Grinch, but we tried to set up weekend meets in the past and everyone proclaimed they were always busy on the weekends...so that's why we tried the mid-week, once a month meet - where people would know when it was, what time, where, etc. During autocross season (late Feb-October), many weekends are usually spoken for, as we have about two events a month.

If someone else would like to take up the social director reins and set up a consistent, once-a-month meet that would meet the majority demand, that would be fine with me. :)

What about doing some kind of wrenching meet or even a detailing meet? If someone could donate their house, driveway, something to assist that might bring back some people.

Parking lot meets lose their appeal after a while.

Although I'm new to the area, I've done a lot with the people from NEPOC because it was a change of pace from normal things.

- Scenic drives
- Spring and Fall clean/wrench meets
- New York Auto Show
- Big car shows (yet cheap)
- Racing Events at Lime Rock Park
- Random fun get together

Another thing we did in the New England area and started to catch on was something called Cars and Coffee. It was a huge event and included many many different car makes and models. Cars and Coffee #3, Cars and Coffee #2

Something to keep in mind. Usually winter time tends to slow things down because of holidays and the weather is just plain cold... However, that didn't stop us from meeting up and having a get together with the one and only Antoine. Usually spring is when our schedule started to ramp up and by summer it was in full swing.

These are just some ideas to toss around to everyone and see how things go.

Don't forget that Mazda is the feature marquee at the Mitty this year. April 29 thru May 1, 2011. Should be a huge event, with a lot of classic Mazda race cars, Patrick Dempsey and his RX-8, MX-5 Auto-X and lots more....

lol...I asked Sean if you were on FB and he said "nooooooooooo....." like you were Amish or something :D
