Its no different for those who have the ATP BCD to bleed pressure from the MAP sensor. Those guys don't seem to have a problem. I think its just too small of an amount to really make a difference.

exactly....pretty much same thing. Id still like to know where he got it since i dont see it on the turboxs website

....found it....helps to read the whole thread haha

No, the ECU/FBC cannot "pull boost". The ECU can only increase the boost pressure by opening the solenoid valve.

Basically what you are doing is increasing the minimum boost pressure which is normally set by the wastegate actuator when the solenoid valve is closed.

yes it can "pull boost" it cant reduce it to less than the 8 psi WG setting, but the ecu can decide not to bleed out of the factory boost controller. that will cause the boost to not raise to its normal boost point. the car can drop your boost in 6th gear down to 8psi if it chooses, but it would not be that drastic.

i think with the atp boost cut thingy you could avoid the computer seeing the extra boost and it would have no reason to try to pull it back

It works great! still hitting consistent boost of 15-16 psi in 1st -2nd and 16-17psi in the rest of the gears. Best mod so far!! should be installing the corksport DP tonight too! will let you know how that turns out as well.

Well Hell Man! I just found out this weekend that mine will do that(And Hold). Why do you need that?

Like this dude on YouTube bragging about his $640 Standback and that's all his is doing. What a waist!

Like a UniChip Trashbox

Big fat guy, hunh? People like that should not be posting vids on YouTube, Standback or no.

well if this mod does manage to stay undetected, there is a MUCH cheaper way to get the same result..... its called the "bleeder mod" you simple buy a straight vaccum fitting that will fit in the hose that connects the WGA to the boost controller. use the smallest drill bit you can find and drill o hole right in the center of the fitting. cut the factory hose and insert this fitting in between. it will bleed off a small amount of air just before the boost controller and add boost ! that is exactly what this ABC piece does but for more $$$. start with a small hole and make it bigger until you reach the boost you want. this set-up should be fine up to 17psi. after that i would say... dont be a cheap ass and do it right ! over 17psi needs a real boost controller with the stock one bypassed, and some sort of fuel cut defender. i just may do the bleeder mod for a temporary kick in pants !

car still runs bad ass, hits consistant boost of 17psi. yes the DP is installed, and everything is fine i dynoed 270whp and 310wtq with this set up!

im ordering mine now, and if anyone has any doubts about it , i have ran this guy a couple days ago and and pulled on me really bad

bump for one of the best bang for the buck, you can get this new for $35 or get a used one for like 15-$20 i think he told me he got his for like 15 shipped

How did the DP feel when you installed it? Do you still have the 2nd cat installed? How much of an improvement was the DP?

im not trying to speak for him but he ran another guy with cpe ems at 18 psi and he pulled a car or two still on that one also i think that downpipe is a huge improvement , i wasnt thinking of getting one next but after seeing the imporvements in person i really wanna get a downpipe now

so this thing is pre set ?? why not get a real MBC so you can adjust it down the road when you have enough supporting mods to handle more boost.
just my opinion. thats what i did too. i installed my turbsmart MBC and have it set to 17 psi to avoid fuel cut for now. i have a map clamp on the way. that will allow me to go over 17 without fuel cut. oh, and my fuel pump is coming too. gotta have more fuel !!

no you can adjust it to whatever you want to it has a knob on it to raise and lower boost

ok i see, so it is just a bleeder style MBC basically ? the only thing i would suggest is to hook it up directly inbetween the turbo and wastgate. if you jus "T" into the stock boost controle line the ECU does still have a good deal of control over the boost. it will still have the whole "torque managment" where the car can bring the boost on slowly. it will increase the level, but it is MUCH better when you take the stock ECU out of the mix. my 3rd gear used to spool up slow. now that i have the MBC it shoots straight up there !!

yea thats where im gonna tee off at (between the wastgate and turbo) and thats where he tee off at also
