ok got my sub in. first the install...
very straight forward. take out old sub, test fit new sub, i put it in so that the label is right to left withe the left and right of trunk so this way i can see where the clips hit. then i saw the scrapings and i used the dremel to make way for the clips as h-town mentioned (thanks a million BTW), and its a plastic casing inside so use the grinding barells on ur dremel its real easy, took 5 mins. then i clipped the connectors off the stock wires cause i only had the spring terminals. screwed it in with stock screws (supplied wood screws wont work, we have machine screws). and VOILA. my gain is at 3.0 from factory, i dont know if thats too high but it sounds fine. the pics are below, the black foam on the back of the sub are the supplied gaskets which are necessasary, the other pic is the hole i cut so you can see, and the last is the stock kenwood with my finger through it. oh yea and i removed the 6x9 plates for better sound throughput.
as for a sound review. im surprised at these 8" subs. i listened to techno, hiphop (jedi mind tricks. woot, and moulon rouge (lady marmalade) and overall its a nice damn sub, i havent adjusted my system much but i got it on bass 0, NF 0-1, and NF Filter 80Hz. it sounds really good for an 8" sub. , it was 65 well spent.
