SU TMIC Installed.

i would assume that this "recall" would be for anyone unhappy with there product who is having fitment issues with there rear tubes...

and my stock tube is on there now and its slightly kinked too...so i am definitely going to get a new one when they make it

Are these issues with the boost tubes only issue with the SU TMIC or is it the same with the ETS TMIC???

I also called SU and they told me they were working on the problem. I got the impression that they were going to have a new tube made specifically for the SU TMIC.
I think that would solve the problem. I wouldn't mind trying another manufacturers tube, but I think most of the ones available would be a 45 degree angle tube. I not so sure 45 degrees is correct, so some custom angle would have to be produced.
I think SU will have a custom one made, at least I hope they do.
Until then I'll use the stock tube.

I asked Mark about any issues ETS owners were having, he said that they have typically less problems than the SU owners, but that they still had them.

I believe the fix is as simple as a tube with a longer bottom half with a slightly flatter angle going into the TMIC. 45 degrees is angling upward too much, therefore when you bend it down to meet the IC, the top flattens and the inside collapses - it kinks or buckles.

papa yours fits pretty well I think. Mine has a fold in the middle.

Mine does have a small indentation at the 45 bend, but not too bad. However, it did take two of us to put it on. I held the IC off the studs at a 45* angle while my neighbor got the tube on and tightened the clamps, then I set it down on the studs stretching the tube a bit, but its pretty good.

I just need to be able to remove it and get it back on by myself just in case no ones around.

Bottom line is we need a tube that fits. I think SU will get one that works, we'll just have to wait.

Just got done putting the stock tubes back on, they fit a little better, but I still have a kinking problem. I wasn't able to talk to Mark, Sam said he had gone home for the day.

lol poor mark...well i also have the stock ones on now...and like i said there way of fixing this problem was with a "new" intercooler... not a new hose..casue he told me that when they make the new intercooler the su boost tubes would fit right...he told me to call back on may 15th to see if the new intercooler is done...so goodluck to everyone else spending there money on tubes...i am waiting until su fixes the problems cause im not spending anymore money lol

I'm not going to rest until this IC I spent $600 on fits properly. Mark will probably end up sending me some different tubes to try out, but I guarantee they won't work either.

I find it odd they are fixing the problem with 1 poor fitting silicon hose, by redesigning the intercooler.

You'd think it would be cheaper to just have a hose made for the intercooler, and include it with the purchase.

yea i know...but this should solve all problems with it hopefully. i know i am deff gonna switch out my intercooler for a new one

I'm think they could also just weld a little extra length onto the end of the metal inlet at a slightly more downward angle. So we would just send our IC's back in, they'd reweld the inlet, and then it should fit, or so my theory goes.

+1 Just make a tube that fits.

Mark seems to be telling me something different than he told Smokey. He says that they are in the process of developing a new set of tubes, which should be ready around the 15th of next month. He advised me to give them a call back in a few weeks about the new tubes.

Anyways, The stock tubes still don't work the best, but a little better than the SU ones, so he told me to send the SU tubes back for a refund. Long story short, I'm getting an Autoexe shift knob for $14.00.

well circle9 looks like im going to be calling them back to find out what is really going on...regardless due to the fact that my intercooler is dented on the inlet of the intercooler i am getting a new one ...

Are they gonna allow you to return your current tmic in place for their "redesigned" one? Or are you just gonna buy another one? If it's the latter let me know, I would definitely be interested in buying your current one, even with the dent as long as it's ok performance wise.

That's the impression I got when I talked to him. A new tube would be made. That's ok with me, I don't want to have to send mine back.
