My neighbor and I installed my new SU TMIC today. It looks sharp, and is a sweet addition to my engine bay. Anyone looking for a top mount should consider the SU.

It looks good!

Did you noticed an improvement?

07 Silver MS3, Mazdaspeed CAI, Mazdaspeed CBE, TWM short shifter and bushings, SU billet aluminum rear engine mount, Hotchkins RS, Cobb shifter weight, Fuel-Filler door, Goodridge stainless steel brake lines, Motul RBF600 brake fluid, Hawk pads, Dashhawk.

The engine bay looks very nice and clean. I have a hard time doing that here in the North East. Too much sand and salt on the roads and I only drive it once per week during the Winter Months.

Does the SU TMC come in that finish or is that an upgrade?

so all in all does it feel like your pulling harder at higher rpm's cause im looking into getting su tmic also soon . i have read dino's saying it adds 20 wheel horsepower and 20lbs of torque and people saying its always cold to the touch.. does it feel that way or no? if not i would rather spend my money on the cobb computer than this if it didnt perform as good as some say it does.

It seems to hold boost better, and shifting at speed seemed to be a lot smoother.

So does the butt dyno feel like about 20 hp /20 tq??

I know it removes the restriction that is the stock ic. That should be good for some noticible improvement even without taking into effect the cooling factor.

An upgraded intercooler is one of the best upgrades you can do on a forced induction (especially turbocharged) car. Replacing the stock FMIC and intake on my Mazdaspeed Miata with the ETS system (cone filter, intake plumbing, and intercooler core) gave a 17 RWHP gain and a significant gain in RWTQ as well. The car also runs much better, especially in the summer. No more 'my car is pretty quick once the engine firsts heats up, but after a few runs, it hits a wall and just gets slower and slower (from heatsoak).

My $0.02: Check your hose clamps regularly (I check mine weekly). Even though they are torqued down really hard, they do sometimes loosen themselves over time. It will cause stalling issues down the line. So just give each clamp a few turns every week or so.

Looks nice, I've been really please with mine... although the front right mount broke.

Looks like you re-used the stock boost tubes, if you decide to swap them you should consider the OBX tubes over the SU tubes, they are thicker and not as subject to the back one collapsing I found.

To me it feels like its pulling harder, especially in the higher gears. I honestly can't tell you if its 20hp or not, but it feels like more hp than stock.
I mostly wanted to add a little bling to the engine bay, and in my opinion, I accomplished that. I satisfied with the results, both looks and power.

If you are primarily interested in hp, you may want to save up a few more dollars and get the front mount.

I did reuse the stock tubes, the back tube was a real bear, but with my neighbor's help, we got it in.
I'll look at the OBX, but I'm not in the mood to change the stockers after fighting that back one.

Yeah, the OBX tube is too long and requires a bit of test, remove, cut... test, remove, cut... on the bright side, I'm a pro at it now!!

so for the people who actually have a tmic is it really worth it? do you actually feel like your being pinned to your seats? is it noticable?

I wouldn't say I was being pinned to my seat, but there is better performance than the stocker. I think the intake air cools quicker and further than before. As far as being worth it, I'd say it is to me, but I've only had it one day and driven about 10-15 miles.

Wow, I'd love to see that.

Protege Garage themselves have a dyno chart with a 20hp/20lb-ft gain to the wheels on a ETS TMIC.
