SU TMIC Installed.

I might be one to get a dyno done before I purchase a TMIC, give me a few days to see what my options are.

I bought an ETS (through SU) and it warped right at the coldpipe and started whistling everytime I got on the throttle. I even told them that that I had stripped one of the screw holes so they gladly just replaced it for me!! I just had to pay for the shipping there. Not sure what the SU warranty is like but ETS really took care of me....

When I put the SU tubes in I had to resort to using a sharp knife to slice up the stock tubes, after that they were much easier to get off. It was a desperate move, but it did make it much easier.

Are the aftermarket tubes pretty a must? Heard a lot of people saying the stock ones won't fit on upgraded intercoolers

The stock ones fit, but they seem to encounter more fitment issues than the SU boost tubes do. It seems the trend to get the tubes when you get the intercooler.

How exactly are the StreeetUnit boost tubes collapsing in the back. Aren't they 5ply Silicone??

The back hose creases over and is a pain to get on. I got the SU TMIC and tubes and they have no issues at all. Just a little hard to get on. That is my only complaint.

Here's a picture of the stock tube that I reused. I wish I had ordered the SU Boost Tubes along with the SU TMIC. The stocker seems a bit stretched, but so far it's working. I'll eventually get around to installing new tubes and maybe the polished cold pipe. That would make the engine bay look better.

It looks like only the hot pipe is getting kinked. I guess the tubes are longer so they don't kink? The cold pipe should not have to be changed because it is attached to the stock aluminum cold pipe in the same location.

So does anybody just sell the hot pipe?

just got my su timic today. unfortunately the boost tubes they had were only in red and i needed blue so i am gonna have to wait a month they said to get them or black back in stock. i also just ordered my turbo inlet today from hi-tuned perf. and finally my sharkfin!!

Hehe, I wanted black tubes, but all they had was red and blue, so I got blue. Beware, the back hose is a b**** to fit on, and it tends to not fit very well.

I'm also waiting for the black to come back in stock. Now you got me worried about the fitment for the new rear tube. I was hoping it would be much better with the SU tube.
Do you think a 45* silicone tube from stylinmotors.com would work? It would have to be cut to fit since the legs are 6". Just a thought.

PS Post some pics of your TMIC.

I'll try to post some pictures tomorrow. The rear tube doesn't fit nicely at all, I am already looking for an alternative to replace it. I think it could be at least 1/2 inch longer on the bottom half of the tube to help fitment.

so for the people who actually have a tmic is it really worth it? do you actually feel like your being pinned to your seats? is it noticable?

If you wat to feel something get a downpipe. If you really want to feel it, build your motor and go bigger turbo. To the TMIC guy, thats a lot of money just to make you engine look good, lol.

You sir, are speaking out of your ass. With the TMIC on, the car now has a good bit more power mid-range, heat soak is pretty much a non issue, and the car now pulls all the way to redline. There are dyno proven gains of 20 hp/20 tq to the wheels on a stock MS3 with just a TMIC.

I would have never gotten a TMIC for just show, and if I did, wouldn't I have added the extra $140 for a nice finish?

Not really, just going off of Papa speed's review. Not talking to you. He comes off like "I think its stronger" but keep going back to saying how good it looks. I know it's dyno proven, no need to get your panties in a bunch.

Here's the pictures you asked for Papa, as you can see, it appears that the boost tube is a little too short due to the angle of the aftermarket IC. I think the issue could be resovled simply by making the bottom half of the tube longer - I don't know if this makes sense to you guys. I don't have any kinking lower down, but as you can see, the top of the tube doesn't look very secure and the clamp is a tad bit precarious. I don't have any leaks, but I'd prefer a better fitting tube anyway.

Sorry ms3jake, I didn't mean to be irate, I was just pissed off that morning due to issues with a store that wasn't sending me things I ordered 2+ weeks ago (rant)

Also, after I got home driving for 1 - 2 hours, the IC was cold to the touch (wiggle)

Yeah, the SU tube looks like it fits similar to the stocker, which makes sense.
I think as long as you have that clamp past that ridge on the pipe, and its real darn tight, it will be ok. It's just the looks of it.
We just need a tube with better fitment.

Mine's normally cool after driving too, I really like it so far.

Thanks for the pics.
