Stupid Things You've Done Modifying/Maintaining Your Ride

</O
Okay everyone,
<O
</O
Time to 'fess up.
<O
</O
At the very least we can learn from each other's mistakes.
</O
1. I usually forget to reattach one of the electrical connections around the throttlebody.
<O
</O
2. While installing the Outlaw Engineering manifold spacer, I did not notice that a wire was pinched, which several weeks later lead to my car dying at Shannonville. We managed to push the car onto a front wheel trailer, which caused my front bumper to break one of the mounting clips, and cause a crack in the left lower front under the foglight. Since then I just used that enlarged hole for ram air which you all can see! Expensive tow back to DWM too.
<O
</O
3. While removing the EGR connector on the stock exhaust manifold, the nut for some reason decided to stick to the pipe and hence I twisted the pipe! Had to buy a new one and about 1 hr later I replaced that.
<O
</O
4. I caused a minor crack in the clear cluster guage while installing a SS guage bezel.
<O
</O
5. I can't find my ABS fuse! (although I could really care less).
<O
</O
6. I used SAE nuts instead of Metric nuts to hold my rear license plate. One of them decided to stick to the "speednut" behind and hence, when I turned the bolt, the nut would just rotate. I had to cut through the plastic plate garnish, and use a dremel to cut off the bolt head.
<O
</O
7. While removing the stock shifter and installing the B&M, I should've cleaned out the opening to allow a better fit. Now I can't even come close to using the stock "C" clip, and no amount of hammering will budge that shifter lower. (Although apparently this occurs on this board as well).
<O
</O
8. Left the rear strut caps on too long, and hence the numbers on the Illuminas are almost rubbed off. Had to drill a much bigger hole and use fluorescent paint to mark it.
<O
</O
9. Broke the PRC Solenoid Valve when my hand slipped off the strut bar.
<O
</O
10. Burnt myself when soldering the wires for the front bumper light flash modification.
<O
</O
11. Stripped one of the heads off the bolt to the EGR valve actuator. Did not have a tap and die set so I did the best I can to remove it. Now a bit of metal is stuck on the threads and I'm using 2 OEM bolts, and 1 other one. The size FYI is M4 x 35mm.
12. Somehow lost the gasket to the EGR valve.
<O
</O
13. Put an old set of rotor backs on the fronts. Not a good idea since the best speed I could get was 95kph due to the intense vibrations.
<O
</O
14. Forgot to really tighten the lug nuts=vibration at speed.
<O
</O
15. Got wax clogged into the sprayer nozzle.
<O
</O
16. While removing the rear CF spoiler to do a rattle fix, I cracked it slightly.
<O
</O
17. Using rear license plate bolts that were too long. They dug into the paint and body of the rear hatch.
<O
</O
If I think of anymore I'll add them.
