Get a clue dude... LS1 is alloy first of all.. and LS engines aren't exactly your daddy's small block chevy. If you want reliable power out of a rotary engine coming anywhere near the power levels a mildly worked LS1, I would say.. good luck.

Personally I'd say an LS1 is a poor choice, because the newer engines in the series are not that much more expensive and put out WAY more power, but though you may not personally agree with the swap, nobody can argue that it isn't one badass ride.

still they shouldnt put a v8 in a awesome import! its like saying im goin to put a turboed k24 in a vette :/ lol it would probley run alot better lol!!!

I don't see how that argument holds a drop of water... you realize that at one time the LS1 WAS a vette engine, right?

well yea duh lol everyone should knw that... all im saying is people need to think before they put a v8 in a import... imports perform better wit the engine they have already if u build a rx7 just right it can make well over 1000hp..

i can argue that it isnt a bad ass ride, but ill say whatever makes you happy carl. or, ill say whatever makes you ship me those fog light buckets.

Wow my bad guys... didn't realize the flamethrower's would come out "guns blazing". I have owned 4 cars thus far, all of which were 4 cylinder imports. I liked them all very much, but I can appreciate other cars as well. If swapping an LS motor is a terrible idea, please do a search on youtube and tell me how many cars you find with them. You can swap an LS into a Nissan 240sx (which has been done) and it rip the tires to shreds all day long. Turbo's are very fun, don't get me wrong. But calling the LS a piece of s*** when your car has an FSDE... really? Whatever, there will always be haters.

If that were true imports would never do an engine swap, and money is always a factor.

Quoted for the LOLZ!!

Personal opinion or not, that FD with an LS1 would make my pants tighter

im not hateing an im sure aj ant ether trust me i just dont care for v8s.. most of the people that drive um r asses wit the import guys an thats y they shouldnt get any respect wat so ever.. till they get there as handed to them by alittle 4 cylinder. my point is a true muscle car guy would not put a v8, in a supra, 240, skyline, crx lol or no import... an a import guy should not put a 4 cylinder in a vette, mustang, comaro or any muscle car...

If you build a FS-DE just right you can handle over 500whp but does that make people stupid for swaping in the KLZE?

oops i ,meant to say imports perform better wit the motor they have, like a si, mazdaspeed u know know the ones that r ready... but the klze is the same to me cuz its coming out of an import :)

If you are a purist and thats what you prefer, I respect that, but your argument as written holds no water. I'm sorry, thats just the truth of the matter. LS engines rival the volumetric efficiency of any engine out there, are INFINTELY more reliable than any rotary ever made, and respond ridiculously well to a couple of simple modifications. If you refuse to acknowledge their viability, then you are blinding yourself to something that is commonly accepted in the automotive world. Simple as that. This is exemplified perfectly in the engine choice by an Australian (ZOMG AN IMPORT!) auto maker who goes by the name of Holden. When they wanted to make their Monaro go stupid fast... they picked up an LS engine from GM and dropped her in.

You know that car as the 2004-2006 Pontiac GTO. If you want a demonstration of what a stupid domestic pushrod V8 engine is capable of in an "imported" car... I'll give you a demonstration. I'd prefer if you wait until I get my coilovers and sway on, but as sits now, the only thing that would keep you defending your narrow minded opinion is sheer stubbornness.
