This guy is a genius. He owns Orlando Speedworld Dragway. The complex sits on like 50 acres or more. There is an Oval Track with an "X" in the middle for figure 8 races, a Dirt Bike Track, and a Quarter Mile Track.
For the summer he is trying something a little different.
Because of all the accidents that have been occurring in Central Florida because of illegal street racing he has opened up the track on the first Saturday of every month during the summer for... you guessed it. "Legal" Illegal Street racing.
Gates open at 9:00pm racing at 10:00pm until sometime around 2:30am.
$10 admission or $15 if you run.
No brackets or anything. You pull up to the staging lanes, see something you want to run against and you line up. No traps, just a Stage Hand (that's what I call the guy who gets the two cars staged in the lanes). They use a pro light tree pattern and youre off.
Non stop racing for like 4 hours. It's a good time and you get in a lot of runs. I ran once, had a bad launch, parked for the night. (I was pouting I guess).
